SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office arrested seven people and issued citations during a high-visibility enforcement campaign targeting impaired motorists.
Deputies participated in the Impaired Motor Vehicle Enforcement Program with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles from June 19 through July 6. The effort focused on identifying, detecting and detouring impaired drivers to reduce crashes.
During the period, deputies patrolled roadways for more than 50 hours and conducted 105 traffic stops, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The arrests included one for driving while intoxicated, two for possession of a controlled substance, one for driving while license invalid and possession of drug paraphernalia, one on a local warrant, one on an out-of-county warrant and one for possession of 25.35 grams of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1.
Deputies also issued six citations and 115 warnings for multiple traffic violations.
The sheriff’s office said it remains committed to roadway safety through proactive enforcement and partnerships with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
