SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Association of REALTORS celebrated 100 years in the Concho Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
To commemorate the achievement, the SAAR team received resolutions from the offices of Senator Charles Perry and Congressman August Pfluger, along with State Representative Drew Darby, who was able to say a few words in person to mark the occasion.
The celebration also included remarks from community leaders, a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and reflections on a century of service.
Community members, elected officials and realtors from across the Concho Valley toured the century-long history and “member”abilia firsthand while enjoying refreshments, giveaways and a champagne toast, according to a Facebook post.
They also said goodbye to their old SAAR sheep in San Angelo and unveiled their new sheep.
"We were happy to join in the celebration of the now-retired "Ewe Sella," one of the first and only mobile fiberglass sheep in San Angelo, and the unveiling of a beautifully painted new addition to the flock," Downtown San Angelo Inc. stated. "A big thank you to Ashley Perales of Pop of Color for bringing the new sheep to life with her incredible artwork! Its name will be chosen later by SAAR members."
