SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking public input through an online survey to help identify local fire risks and shape a new Community Risk Reduction Plan.
The short survey, launched Thursday, asks residents about smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, willingness to allow voluntary home safety inspections, perceptions of fire safety and the Fire Marshal’s Office, the largest perceived risks in their area, knowledge of and involvement with neighbors on safety issues, homeownership status, and interest in attending a future town hall on fire safety.
It also collects the respondent’s single-member district or neighborhood.
City officials said responses will directly inform the Community Risk Reduction Plan, which will outline identified fire risks and detail how the Fire Marshal’s Office plans to reduce them.
"Your answers will help identify current fire risks in San Angelo," information from the City of San Angelo stated. "This information will guide the development of our Community Risk Reduction Plan. The plan will explain the fire safety risks in our community and how the Fire Marshal’s Office will work to reduce those risks."
