Cindy Mills Preas

04/18/2021 - 09:28 , by TKing09

It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the death of Cindy Ann Mills Preas, beloved wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021, from complications related to her heart and lungs.

Cindy was born on April 26, 1954. She was raised here in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School in 1972.

She retired in 2003 from the San Angelo State School (MHMR), where she worked 30 years on the dorms. No one has ever accomplished this feat with as much caring, compassion, and patience as Cindy.

She was a thoughtful soul, who loved to do special things for people. She gave many gifts, many smiles, and many “pay-it-forwards.” She was generous to the bone, and honest to a fault.

She was the kind of person who put her entire heart into everything she did--even the simple things. She loved sitting out in the sun, shopping at Wal-Mart, and going to Sonic for an unsweet tea. Just about everyone on the Northside knew “Miss Cindy.”

We can tell you that she loved sunflowers and ivy, and her favorite singer was John Denver. She also revelled in old romantic comedies and dramatic movies; she got a kick out of Game of Thrones. She also loved her family immensely, and never failed to show us how much.

We will FOREVER miss the silver-haired lady who was gone entirely too soon.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Earl Jackson Mills, and her eldest brother Mike Mills. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Preas, her daughter, Chelsea Preas, her mother Jean Mills, her brother, Andy Mills, and her sisters, Karen Page and Karla Edmond.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
