Jesus Manuel Hierro

06/14/2021 - 07:22 , by TKing09

Jesus Manuel Hierro, age 89, of Denver City, Texas, passed away peacefully in San Angelo, Texas, on June 11, 2021. Jesus Manuel was born on September 30, 1931 in Satevo, Chihuahua to his parents Antonio and Ascension Hierro. While growing up in Satevo, Jesus worked to support his family until he moved to Plains, Texas where he began farming. He married the love of his life, Romelia Guerrero, on January 30, 1965. Soon after, he began working for Lone Star Machine Shop (later known as Lufkin) for the next 47 years. He was a member of the Denver City Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Jesus Manuel was one of the most generous people you’ll ever meet. He never met a stranger and always helped out those in need. Although he had a quiet demeanor, his humor would always show through by making people laugh. He also loved gardening, having cookouts, and going to dances. None of those things compared to the love and admiration he had for his wife and children. They were the center of his universe and there is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. Jesus Manuel was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Antonio Hierro. He is survived by his sweetheart of 56 years, Romelia Hierro, daughters Leticia Garcia (Johnny) and Romelia “Nana” Hierro both of San Angelo, sons Jessie Hierro (Laura) of San Angelo and Modesto “Mo” Hierro (Janice) of Lubbock. He adored each of his grandchildren, Jerry Hickson (Laci), Angelina and Charlee Knight, Breauna and Braeden Hierro, Braxton Hierro, Kayleigh O’kane (Tim), Ashleigh and Marleigh Thompson, and his great-grandchildren Bentley and Beckham “pollitos” O’kane and Dylan and Dawnleigh Hickson, plus many friends and family who will miss him dearly.
