Charles "Tim" Edwin Childers

Charles Edwin “Tim” Childers peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 17, 2021 in San Angelo, Texas. Tim was born in Albany, Texas on July 2, 1938, to Catherine and Edwin Childers and grew up in Odessa. He later joined the Marines, proudly serving his country for eight years in the United States Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve. Tim lived happily in Menard, Texas for a large part of his life, residing on the family ranch outside of Menard. He found peace and joy living in the country surrounded by nature and the San Saba River. He was honored to be elected and serve as Menard County Commissioner and later Menard County Judge. 
Tim was preceded in death by an infant son, his wife Shirley Gross Childers, parents Edwin and Catherine Childers, sister Mollie Wagman, nephew Howell Wayne Dodd and great-nephew Jacob Lee Power. He reunited with his high school sweetheart LaDee in 1994 and they were happily married for over twenty-six years. Tim is survived by his wife LaDee, daughter Cari Riley and husband Guy, stepdaughters Susan Guinn, Kelley Tobin and her husband David, Connie Eddy and Starrla Grammer and her husband Harvis. He is also survived by his sister Reena “Sissy” Dodd and her husband Ronnie, brother Howell “Boogie” Childers and his wife Bonnie, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  
A family gathering will be held at Johnson Cemetery in Moran, Texas on Friday, July 23, 2021 where Tim will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a gift donation to Tunnel to Towers or a charity of choice.

John Dwight Atchison, 65, of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 16, 2021, with his loving wife Janet by his side. John was born in Waco, Texas on September 29, 1955, to Thomas Carl and Kathleen Harrington Atchison. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School. John worked for numerous companies during his young life but would settle in as a brick layer in the construction industry. He enjoyed building things, fixing things that were broken and remodeling his own home. Family and friends knew him as a “jack of all trades.” John was a quiet, reserved man who enjoyed being at home with his wife and seeing his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing. His favorite place to go fishing was at Twin Buttes reservoir. John married the love of his life, Janet Kathleen Anderson on October 24, 2014. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and his work. His love and devotion to his family and friends, and his dedication to his profession will remain in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss him. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Janet Anderson Atchison; his daughter, Abbey Atchison Strehle and her husband Gerald; his son, Jacob Atchison and his wife, Raquel; and five grandchildren. John’s request was to have private services.

Billie Joyce Norman Nance passed on to join her family the morning of July 14th, 2021. Joyce was born in Albuquerque New Mexico, to William Stevens Norman, and Dollie Edith Artman on June 20th, 1937. She was the second of their three daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leon, her elder sister Dorothy, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Sunni Nance, and her granddaughter, Summerain Nance Gothard. True to her New Mexico roots, Joyce loved Southwestern culture. She was a lifelong collector of Southwestern art and loved all things turquoise.
