Michael David Sarabia

02/06/2025 - 09:22 , by TKing09

Michael David Sarabia, of San Angelo, departed this life on Feb 3, 2025. He was born Feb 14, 1984, in Del Rio Tx and raised by his parents, Andy Sr and Linda Sarabia, in Edmonson, TX. Throughout his early childhood he spent the majority of his time on his grandfather's farm, where he learned countless life lessons and his strong work ethic.

He attended elementary school in Plainview, TX before his family relocated to San Angelo, where he attended Lee Jr High, Central High School and graduated from Grape Creek High School in 2002. Michael excelled in multiple sports, especially football, which he played throughout his high school career. Although not "officially" appointed, he was the Team Captain and leader on and off the field. Shortly after high school, he found his calling and began his lifelong career path in the oil and gas industry, in which he contributed the next 20+ years, right up to the last day of his life. He gave his heart and soul to the oil field, and he definitely got out what was put in and provided the best life possible for his family.

Michael became a father to Esperanza in 2004, Madison in 2007, and Michael II in 2009. His children were his pride and joy and wanted nothing but the absolute best for them. He raised them to be strong, respectful hard-working individuals and loved and supported them more than he could have ever shown.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his son's baseball games, conversing over a few cold beers and most of all, just being a Dad. He has inspired countless individuals throughout his short time with us. Mostly outspoken, sometimes out of place, but his words and actions always had nothing but the best of intentions behind them.

Loving son, brother, and father, Michael will be greatly missed by all who have had the privilege of his presence in their lives. He leaves behind his 3 children Esperanza, Madison, and Michael II all of San Angelo, his grandmothers Anna Ramon of Del Rio and Blackie Sarabia of Plainview, his mother Linda, brother Andy, sister Yvette Ayala, brother-in-law Junior, nephew Christian, nieces Liliana and Zoey all of San Angelo. He also leaves behind numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends from across the country and around the world, all of whom were near and close to him. He is preceded in death by his great grandmother Genoveva Delgado, Grandfathers Ignacio Ramon and Domitilo Sarabia, cousin Adrian Sarabia, and his Uncles Mike and Barney Sarabia.

Funeral Services will be held Friday February 7, 2025, at 2pm at New Hope Bible Church (6146 Appaloosa Trail San Angelo, TX) with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Viewing will be held Thursday February 6 at Harper Funeral Home (2606 Southland Blvd in San Angelo) with visitation from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., and prior to funeral services at New Hope Bible Church from 12:30 pm. to 2:00 pm.

Pall Bearers for the service will be Andy Sarabia II, Michael Sarabia II, Arnold Ayala Jr, Christian Ayala, Dwayne Baines, Bryant Ramon, Efren Guerrero III, Gabriel Escamilla, Harvon Jordan and Mars Torres.

Vircille Owens

02/05/2025 - 11:17 , by TKing09

Vircille Rowe Owens was born in Doole, Texas on November 29, 1924, to Jodie and Pall Rowe. She passed from this life on February 1, 2025, at the age of 100.

In her early years, Vircille chopped cotton, hoed long rows, and rode dusty school buses. After graduation from Iraan High School, she went into nurses training at the Shannon Hospital.

She married Ellis Owens on June 22, 1945, while he was still in the Navy during WWII. They spent their early days of marriage in San Francisco, California.

When the war ended, Ellis and Vircille went into ranching just outside the Big Bend National Park, where they owned the Santiago Peak Ranch. Here, Vircille made a home for her family. She turned an adobe house, of four original rooms, into a comfortable, although rough at the start, home.

No transportation to school was provided by Marathon schools, so Vircille fed the family and the hands breakfast, drove 60 miles roundtrip to the school in Marathon and back, cooked lunch, fed the men, and repeated the trip to Marathon to end the day.

Together, Ellis and Vircille fought eagles, mountain lions, bitterweed, and horehound. But on Sunday, having determined to put God first in their lives, they drove 90 miles into Sanderson to be part of the Sanderson Church of Christ. On weeknights Ellis led a family Bible reading and devotional. Attendance was not optional. In all, Ellis and Vircille were also part of the Churches of Christ in Sheffield, Iraan, and Southgate Church of Christ in San Angelo.

When Ellis’ aging parents needed help, he and Vircille sold the Santiago Ranch and bought the Circle Dot in Terrrel County, where they ranched until they retired. Dividing their time between the ranch and their newly acquired home in San Angelo, they became a part of the Southgate Church of Christ. There, Vircille was involved in World Bible School, eventually sending thousands of lessons to students in Africa.

Vircille was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis, after 68 years of marriage. She lost her son, Robert Ellis, 36, to cancer, while he was in med school in Houston. In 2023, Vircille lost her son-in-law, David Brown. She leaves behind a daughter, Judy Brown, son, Clint Ellis Owens and wife, Starr, and a daughter, Jo Ellis McCall and husband, Rick.

Vircille had 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Pecos River Encampment, BOX 184, Iraan, TX 79744.

A funeral service for Vircille will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM at Church of Christ, 604 Harte St, Iraan, TX 79744. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at Sheffield Cemetery, Sheffield, TX 79781.

Joseph Allen

02/05/2025 - 11:09 , by TKing09

Joseph W. Allen, 42, of San Angelo, TX, passed away on January 22, 2025.

He was born on May 15, 1982, in Stockton, CA, to Bill and Sherry Allen.

Joseph proudly served in the United States Army as a Cryptologic Linguist, enlisting on April 11, 2002. He achieved the rank of Specialist and honorably separated from service on April 10, 2008, after completing two tours in Iraq. While his military service was distinguished, it was the lifelong bonds he formed that meant the most to him—brothers for life, friendships built through shared experience, trust, and unwavering loyalty. These connections remained among his most treasured relationships.

After his military service, Joseph dedicated his career to wind and solar energy, working for various companies before concluding his career as an Operations Support Manager for BayWa r.e. Solar Projects LLC.

He was married to Bethany Allen for 22 amazing years, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was a devoted father to Mikayla, Joseph Jr., and Olivia, always putting his family first in everything he did.

Joe was not just my husband but my best friend—honorable and hardworking down to his core. He would do anything for the people in his life, and those lucky enough to know him recognized his easygoing charm and way of making people feel at ease, always ready with an inappropriate joke to bring laughter to those around him. But when you needed anything—whether it was help with a move, lending a hand with repairs, an ear to listen, or advice—he was there, without hesitation.

He found joy in the little things with his family and friends. He loved hunting, shooting, and building things—always working on a project, whether big or small. More than anything, he loved spending time with the people he cared about, whether it was painting Warhammer miniatures, playing games, camping, or even a trip to Home Depot.

A celebration of life will be held in San Angelo, TX, in March 2025, with details to be announced soon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity that supports or advocates for veterans. Donations in Joseph’s honor would be a meaningful way to support those who have served.

Joseph is survived by his parents, Bill and Sherry Allen; his brother, James Allen; his wife, Bethany Allen; and his children, Mikayla, Joseph Jr., and Olivia.

He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

Lastly, a sincere and special Thank You to Christus Santa Rosa Hospital and Vitas Hospice (both of San Antionio) for the dedicated and specialized care they provided our dad in his last days.

Our dad loved history, having conversations about WWII, and traveling. He especially enjoyed the food at all these exotic places!

Additionally, he was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan; supporter of the San Angelo Bobcats and greatly enjoyed his Texas Rangers and Houston Astros!
