Edward Leroy Burke

05/19/2025 - 09:38 , by TKing09

Edward L. Burke, lovingly known as “Eddie” and “Eddie Lee,” departed his earthly home on May 13, 2025, at the age of 86, to join our Heavenly Father and reunite with his beloved wife Myrtie.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Love Funeral Home Chapel Eldorado. Interment will follow in Eldorado Cemetery.

Born on August 16, 1938, in Glens Falls, New York, Eddie was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. From January 3, 1957, to December 4, 1964.  He served with honor as a Radio Intercept Operator with the USAF Security Service.  His service took him around the world - including 18 months in the Philippines and 15 months in Turkey. While stationed in Turkey, Eddie not only served as a Payroll Clerk but also embraced his passion for music—performing in a country band and eventually running the base radio station. His service concluded at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, where he worked as a base lifeguard and Finance Clerk.

It was in San Angelo where he met the love of his life, Myrtie Westbrook, in September 1963. They were married on November 15 of that year. Together, they raised a loving family: Lynda, their daughter, along with Myrtie’s children, Elizabeth and Joe Lee, from her first marriage. Their journey took them from New York to Indiana, and eventually back to Texas.

Eddie worked on Myrtie’s family ranch before beginning his career with GTE in 1969. In 1984, the family settled in Southlake, Texas, where Eddie continued with GTE/Verizon until his retirement in 1995. He later returned to the workforce, serving with the U.S. Postal Service, UPS, and finishing his second career with the TSA and finally retiring in 2009.

A man of many passions, Eddie found joy in fishing, music, and service. From his boyhood days fishing in the Hudson River and Copeland Pond with his brother, to exploring the lakes and rivers around San Angelo, fishing was a lifelong love. His musical talent began early—he was First Chair trumpet player in high school and continued performing throughout his life. Eddie played bass and steel guitar in various bands and was a beloved member of the karaoke community at the American Legion where Ed and his friends could be found every Wednesday night singing that good old-fashioned country music.  Ed sang with all his heart and soul.

Eddie also dedicated time to scouting. He joined the Cub Scouts at age 8, Boy Scouts at 11, and served as Assistant Scoutmaster from 1959 to 1964, and later as Scoutmaster in from1975 to 1979.

Eddie is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Myrtie Burke, and his son, Joe Lee Luttrell. He is survived by his daughter Lynda Mullan her husband Brendan; granddaughters Taylor Stubblefield (Clay) and Courtney Hlavaty (Jack); great-grandsons of Texas; daughter Elizabeth Luttrell and granddaughters Miranda Barnes (Dustin) and Rachel Gamel (Taylor) great-grandchilden of Louisana; siblings Thomas Burke, Dennis Stockwell, and Kathy Gitto of New York; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Ed lived a full life filled with love, laughter and his enjoyment of music.   We are left with many fond memories to look back upon when a smile is needed.  Ed will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Our family extends a personal and heartfelt thanks to Christine Perl for stepping in during the past ten years when we needed a helping hand with Ed’s care.  We truly don’t know what we would have done without you.  Our sincere gratitude also goes to the team of doctors and nurses at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Grapevine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eddie’s memory to One Tribe Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting veterans and first responders through traditional and nontraditional therapies.

Edmundo "Eddie" Trevino

05/14/2025 - 09:22 , by TKing09

Edmundo "Eddie" Trevino, 71, fell asleep in death after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.

Memorial service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2025 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, with Elder Mike Moreno, officiating.

Eddie was born December 2, 1953 in San Angelo to Ezequiel and Gregoria Perez Trevino. He was a life long resident of San Angelo and worked for SAISD as a bus driver for many years, retiring in 2018. Eddie was a man who loved western things so much that he would watch western movies every chance he had and even named his dog "Cowboy." He was a lover of nature and animals. Eddie talked about the future promise of a paradise under God's Kingdom to have found at Matthew 6:9,10. He wants a ranch with many animals to take care of and land, while being able to share a star filled sky with the love of his life, Molly, who he shared 5 amazing years with. They met later in life and fell in love over the united search for toilet paper during Covid. Eddie, if I could tell you anything, what I would say is: "To say you completed me is an understatement. You're like a fire that never stops burning. You answered quickly, with an honest look, laughter, and love. You were very determined to give Jehovah your best sacrifices to the end. Thank you for always being there without hesitation. Where you used to be, there is a hole in my heart. You continue to inspire me. I hear you telling me to "keep smiling." Eddie was never one to complain. Life was so precious to him, and it was evident in the way he raised his four children and the love they showed to him when they traveled to be by his side in life and at the very end. You were known to be the real thing! "Genuine." And as Jesus said about Nathaniel, he was a man "in whom there is no deceit." (John 1:47)

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Molly Trevino; one daughter, Jennifer Savage and husband Brian of Michigan; three sons, Edmundo Trevino, Jr., Kirk Trevino both of Michigan and Eric Trevino and wife Vivian of Midland; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Elodia Cain and husband John; and one brother, Ezequiel Trevino, Jr.

Theodore Redman Hume, Jr.

05/14/2025 - 09:18 , by TKing09

Theodore Redman Hume, Jr. "Ted" passed away peacefully on the morning of January 19, 2025, following a 10-year brave battle with lymphoma.

Ted was born on October 3, 1938, to Theodore Redman Hume and Floy Friend Hume in San Angelo, Texas. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School in 1956. He followed in his parents' footsteps and attended Southern Methodist University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering and began his career with Trinity Industries and subsequently with General Portland Cement Company. In 1959, he married Patsy Barber, and together they lived in Dallas and raised two children, Lynne and Teddo. While in Dallas, Ted enjoyed being involved in many community projects including the Dallas Society for Crippled Children, the Dallas Jaycees, and the President's Task Force for the State Fair of Texas.

In 1977 the family made a big move to Ted's hometown of San Angelo to be closer to his mother, and where he pursued his dream of a career in homebuilding. Over the next 40 years, he built over 100 homes in the San Angelo area. He and Pattie divorced in 1997, and he subsequently married Rose Ingala. After Ted and Rose separated, she left him with Weeji, the only cat he ever owned and cared for.

Throughout his life, Ted enjoyed an impressive variety of activities and hobbies. He was an avid sportsman and spent as much time as possible playing golf, tennis and hunting and fishing. He treasured time spent at Cedar Bluff Ranch in Ozona on hunting trips with friends and family - most especially the multi-generational Thanksgiving week hunt with long-term friends. Although he was an avid bass fisherman, he most enjoyed saltwater fishing in Port Mansfield. His love for Port Mansfield began in his childhood through many trips with his father Redman. As an adult, annual summer trips with Teddo and close friends Larry Petty and his family, RD Barron and his sons were often looked forward to. Ted made his last trip to the port in August of 2022 and caught a personal best Speckled Trout while wading the west shoreline. Teddo's friends were always amazed at Ted's ability to out fish them.

Ted was a lifelong learner and became quite knowledgeable about astronomy, wines, and coin collecting. In his later years, he was an active collector and seller of slide rules and became a renowned expert. He continued community involvement in San Angelo in many ways through his Astronomy Club and star parties, his wine tasting group, by helping plan and organize many high school reunions, and even tutoring neighborhood children in many math subjects.

Ted had many loves in his life - his beautiful family home, his dear friend and companion Lynn Furlow, his family and his God. He loved the State Fair of Texas, corny dogs, Key Lime Pie, and Christmas, but had a hatred of incompetence, almost every vegetable and a very contentious relationship with his "*@&$*" phone. He will be missed for all these things and many more.

He leaves behind to treasure his memory his daughter, Lynne Hume Borkowski (Richard); son, Theodore Redman Hume III (Jessica); and grandchildren, Katie Borkowski, Courtney Hume, Caroline Hume and Theodore Redman Hume IV.

The family is thankful that he received wonderful support from Gentiva Hospice and Home Instead caregivers Marsha and Geordas, his friend Joe Lynch and his medical team. The family is also extremely thankful that he finally knows what really happened on Oak Island.

Memorial graveside services will be on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1:00 pm in Ozona, Texas at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 200 S Hwy 163, Ozona, Texas.
