Thomas William Murray

03/02/2026 - 09:31 , by TKing09

Thomas William Murray was born in Austin, Texas on February 3, 1947, to Thomas Walter Murray and Marguerite Shell Murray. Raised in the ranch lands of Georgetown, Texas, he learned early the value of hard work, integrity, and caring for others.

On May 24, 1969, Tom married the love of his life, Linda Robertson, in Plains, Texas . For 57 beautiful years, they built a life rooted in adventure, resilience, and unwavering devotion. Together they raised three children and created a legacy of love that continues through generations.

Tom graduated from Georgetown High School in 1966, where he proudly played football, and later earned a double degree in chemistry from Sul Ross University in 1970. His sharp mind was matched by his steady hands and willing heart.

He was a loving husband “Bubba”, Daddy, and “Poppy”—a sweet, kind soul who showed his family how a gentle man can profoundly impact generations. Whether working cattle, fixing up a project, lending a helping hand, or simply listening with patience and care, Tom lived with quiet strength and steady compassion.

At a young age, Tom developed a deep love for adventure, shaped by long days of hard work on wide-open ranch land and farms filled with animals—yet he always managed to save a little time for an adrenaline rush behind the wheel of a fast car. He carried that beautiful balance of responsibility and fun throughout his life. Whether he was building something with his hands, chasing a new horizon, or simply enjoying the ride, Tom embraced each season wholeheartedly. From creating meaningful memories with his family to traveling across the United States in an RV and enjoying cruises with Linda, he truly lived life to the fullest—steadfast, joyful, and always ready for the next adventure.

He loved the outdoors, DIY projects, and speaking to nature and creatures alike. Tom never met a stranger. He made lifelong friends wherever he went—even counting a ghost named Jorge among his acquaintances. His sense of humor, curiosity, and community spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ann Elizabeth; his infant son, Thomas Richard; and his beloved daughter, Cindy Ella. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his daughter, Christi Yancey; his son, Thomas Murray; his cherished grandchildren, Kirsten, Sierra, Jayden, Cheyenne, and Thomas; and his precious great-granddaughter, Brynlee. He also leaves behind John (“Bit”) Robertson and Rene Robertson, along with many lifelong friends who were blessed by his steady presence.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Alpine, Texas.

In remembrance of our dear “Bubba”, be an inspiration to your generational family. Love others the way he did—gently, faithfully, and without hesitation. That is a legacy worth carrying forward.

Ronald was born 19 January 1933 to Oral Vernon and Clara Pearl (Wood) Smith in Pettit, Texas. He was the oldest child of nine. His father had four other children from a previous marriage. During his early childhood the family moved around the Pettit, Levelland and Whiteface communities until the middle forties when they packed up and moved to the Chickasha, Oklahoma.

While living In Chickasha Ronald and his brothers Bennie and Phil began working as golf caddies at the Chickasha Country Club for tips. Being the oldest Ronald went to work full-time in 1947 as a greens keeper for Woody Kerr, the Club Pro at the Country Club. He spent most of his time working and often slept on a cot in the basement of the clubhouse. During this time he often caddied for Woody Kerr in local surrounding golf tournaments and became friends with a young future U. S. Open Champion Orville Moody.

In October 1952 Ronald received his draft induction letter from Uncle Sam. He immediately went down to the local Recruitment office and joined the Air Force. After basic training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas his first duty assignment was at Carswell AFB, Fort Worth, Texas working as a linen specialist at the base hospital. He arrived just in time to witness some of the action for the filming of actor Jimmie Stewart's movie Strategic Air Command. After a year Ronald decided and volunteered to train into the aircraft maintenance career field and was sent to Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas for schooling.

Ronald's mom, dad and family had moved back to Levelland and when time permitted he would go and visit them. On one such weekend he met the love of his life, Glenna Pierce a high school friend of his sister Bobby. Glenna and Ronald were married in Levelland on 3 July 1954. After four years he volunteered for duty in Vietnam and spent the year of 1969 serving. After returning home from the war Ronald packed up the family and moved to Lackland AFB, in San Antonio completing a full circle in his career.

Debra Heath

03/02/2026 - 09:18 , by TKing09

Debra Heath, 67, of San Angelo passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Today we honor a mother and a friend whose love shaped every life she touched. She was beautiful in every way that mattered: kind, generous, steady, and full of grace. Even in the hardest seasons of her life (and there were many), she carried a smile that lifted others and a spirit that refused to dim.

She loved her family with a devotion that knew no limits. She was the most caring and loving mother a son could ask for. She gave without hesitation, supported without question, and celebrated every joy as if it were her own. Her strength was quiet but powerful, and her heart was a place of comfort for all of us.

Though we will miss her more than words can express, her love remains, woven into our memories, our stories, and the people we've become because of her.

He attended Columbia Basin College and Eastern Washington University before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1967, serving as a munition specialist until his honorable discharge in 1970.

He never passed up an opportunity to tell a story, and Mike was the master of embellishment. He was known at Bentwood Country Club as the “Best Dressed Bentwood Golfer”. He wrote his first hole in one on the scorecard and it said, “only took 56 years.” He threatened to sell his wife’s golf clubs if she got her first hole in one before him, she did and he didn’t, and anyone that knows his wife, Billie, would understand.

Mike loved music, and even though the last four years he battled Frontotemporal dementia that robbed him of his memories and ability to communicate. If the golf cart had music on, he would sing every word with perfect pitch, rhythm and harmony.

Mike will be remembered for his service to his country, competitive spirit, love of family/friends, his humor, storytelling, his love of life and golf.
