Burton Bobby

Bobby Joe Burton passed from this world on February 25, 2014 in San Angelo, Texas.
He was born June 6, 1931 in Stamford and grew up and graduated from Moran in 1949, then he attended Ranger Jr. College. He joined the Air Force in 1949, and served more than 2 years in Korea and Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1954.
Bobby married the love of his life, Betty Jo Holt, May 20, 1955 in Albany. They resided in Moran and began his 39 year career with West Texas Utilities that saw stops in Moran, Santa Anna, Iraan, and Big Lake until he retired in 1994.
After his retirement he and Jo moved to their current home in San Angelo, where he was active in the V.F.W. holding positions from Post Commander to National Aid-De-Camp.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Henry Grady Burton, his mother, Ermma Pounds Burton, brothers, Jack Pounds Burton, and Tommie Lee Burton and sister, Mary Burton Seay. He is also preceded in death by his In-laws; Clarence T. Holt and Gladys Waggoner Holt; and brother-in-law, Dub Vinson.
Bobby is survived by his wife and 5 children; Bobby Jack Burton and wife Debbie of Lone Grove, Okla., Bethy Jeanette Burton of San Angelo, Tx., Billy Joe Burton and wife Dawn, of Iraan, Tx.; daughters Belinda Judy Wise and husband Kevin of Odessa, Tx., Bettina Judy Collins and husband, Sheldon of Iraan, Tx.; Sister-in-law Virginia "Gen" Vinson of Abilene, Tx. Bob was blessed with 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren who lovingly call him Papa.
Bob met and made many friends throughout his life and he cherished each of them. He coached youth baseball and was an active Scout Master who shaped the lives of many young athletes and outdoorsman to become better young men.
A Visitation will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel in San Angelo. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Abilene at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014.

Very Quietly and peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, Almighty God in His Infinite Wisdom gently closed the eyes of our Beloved Mother and Sister and entered her into Eternal Rest. 

Madalyn Rose Gaines was born on February 19, 1923 in Shawnee, Kansas to the late Frank and Annette Stumpff. She was one of ten children reared in eastern Kansas on a farm. She attended Greenwood Grade School and Shawnee Mission High School.
She was united in marriage to Don E. Gaines and to this union five children were born. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted Catholic. At the time of her death she was Owner and Vice President of Gaines Furniture. She was a friendly and caring person who was devoted to her family including her parents, siblings and children. She was an avid antique dealer and collector.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Brothers'; Leonard "Bud" Stumpff and Robert "Bob" Stumpff as well as Sisters', Alice Stewart and Carolyn "Carol" Lawrence. Her children included her devoted daughters', Alyce Gaines Haskins and Diane M. Jasperson, a loving son, Don E Gaines Jr., an estranged son and daughter as well a devoted son-in-law, Ron Haskins. She leaves behind several devoted and loving grandchildren including; Ashley Kuhn, John Kuhn Jr., Donnie Gaines III, Alex Gaines, Diana Gaines, Kathyrn Gaines, Dannielle Gaines, Danraellis Gaines, Dan Jasperson, Tom Jasperson and many loving Nephews and Nieces.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 6pm-8pm at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kanas City Mo. 816-942-2004. Funeral Services will be on March 1, at 3pm at the Mount Moriah Chapel with graveside services to follow.
