Maddux George Arthur

George Arthur Maddux, 75, of San Angelo has passed over on November 15, 2014, after a long bout with cancer.
George graduated Cum Laude from The University of Texas with a Bachelor of Art degree in English, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. George was an established artist with one of his sculptures featured for years on the university campus grounds in Austin, Texas.
George served in the military during the Vietnam War, and was an avid follower of Osho.
George is preceded in death by his loving parents, Doyle C. and Helen Alveda Bledose Maddux.
He is survived by his sisters, Nancy Griego, Cira Drake and Kathleen Maddux Beaupre; his nieces, Alicia Drake of Los Angeles, CA, Michelle Elizabeth Beaupre of Austin, TX, Katrina Renee Beaupre Scott of Leander, TX; and his nephews, Steve Schlittler of San Angelo, TX, Jon Pat Schlittler of Corales, NM, Arthur Drake of Las Vegas, NV, and Danny Beaupre of Cedar Park, TX.
An informal reception to celebrate George’s life will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unity Church Fellowship Hall, 5237 South Bryant Boulevard, San Angelo.

Anderson Angela Marie

Angela M. Anderson passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, in San Angelo. She was born February 15, 1965, in Baytown, Texas, to Frank George Anderson and Lucinda Frances Tomlinson.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucinda Anderson, and by her brother, Joseph Anderson. She is survived by her loving children, Deadra Gist and Lolis Gist; and grandchildren, Kalia Hernandez and Tyre Thomas. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruby Carson, Maxine and Rosemary Anderson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Chapel Service is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 9:00 A.M. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North, 1002 N. Oakes St., San Angelo, Texas, 76903, (325) 658-5995.

Horton Ivon Laverne

Ivon Horton, 71, of San Angelo passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at her residence. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, November 14, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kenneth Plumley officiating. Services are entrusted to Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Ivon was born on September 19, 1943 in San Angelo to Ivan and Sylvia Rose. She married William Leon Horton on September 19, 1961. Ivon was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially her crafts.

Ivon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of thirty-three years, and her brothers Jim Rose, Ernest Rose, David Rose, and Hughey Rose.

Pallbearers will be Roy East, Barney Keele, Josh Gilliland, Timmy Rose, Bobby Long, and Billy Sherman.

Ivon is survived by: sons David Horton and wife Lupe of San Angelo and Danny Horton and wife Stephanie of Big Spring; daughters Mary Keele and husband Barney and Tina Gilliland both of Ballinger; sisters Alice Staggs and husband Tilleman of San Angelo, Billie Ruth Douglas and Ellen Glenn both of OK; brother Bobby Jack Rose of San Angelo; sixteen grandkids, two great grandkids, and numerous extended family and friends.

Messer Kay F.

Kay F. Messer, 62, of Carlsbad, TX passed away on November 9, 2014 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 3:00pm at the Hollis Cemetery with Kent Battenfield, pastor of the Mills County Cowboy Church, officiating.

She was born on July 17, 1952 to W. H. and Betty Freeman at Goldthwaite, TX. On July 4, 1981 she married Arthur H. Messer at Lake Nasworthy in San Angelo, Texas. Kay and Arthur lived in Carlsbad, Texas.

Kay was a lifelong lover of wildlife, nature, and all the outdoors. Her family and friends will miss her bright, sunny and carefree personality.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ben Freeman

Kay is survived by her loving spouse of 34years, Arthur, son, Brayton Cagle and wife, Candace of Goldthwaite, TX. step-daughter, Anna Messer of Austin, TX; step-son, Butch Messer of Christoval, TX; grandchildren, Wyatt, Dalton, Annie of Goldthwaite, TX and Tonya Glenn of CA. Brothers Gary Freeman and wife Judy of Hereford, Tx; Ronnie Freeman and wife Carol of Riverside, CA. Special niece Kristi Kay Gross of Goldthwaite,TX.
