Edna Virginia Wright Olson, 96, entered into immortality on Friday, July 10, 2015 in San Angelo. She was born Friday, April 25, 1919 in Moundsville, West Virginia, the youngest daughter of the late, James and Lucy Staggers Wright. As a young child she moved with her family to Clarington, Ohio where she grew up and went to school, graduating from Salem High School with the class of 1938. During World War II she married Rudolph Olson. Shortly after the war ended they moved to Green Bay, WI where they made their home for 56 years before moving to San Angelo, Texas. While living in Green Bay she was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She transferred to Calvary Lutheran Church after moving to San Angelo. Edna enjoyed gardening. Her hobby was collecting plates, coins, figurines and spoons. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Edna is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Susan Olson; four sisters, Florence Wright, Goldie Haslam, Alice Stanley and Thelma Litman; one brother, Carl Wright; and one nephew, Coleman Litman; as well as 11 brothers-in-law and 7 sisters-in-law.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Leonard Olson and wife, Glenda of San Angelo; sisters-in-law, Hazel Malueg of Green Bay, WI and Lucille Wright Neff of Clarington, OH; many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the Family Room of Johnson's Funeral Home. Those who are not able to attend may sign the guestbook and spend time with Edna at any time between 10:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at a later date in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Bay, WI. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo.
