Erling O “Tommy” Thomesen passed away on September 8, 2017. He was born January 11, 1924 to Emil and Inga Thomesen in Buffalo, Minnesota. Tommy is survived by two children, Mike and his wife Sue of Abilene and Linda Dorris of San Angelo. He had three grandchildren, Heather Williams and her husband Jonathan of Benbrook; Robin Howell of San Angelo, and Meredith Ware and her husband Ryan of Abilene. Tommy had eight great grandchildren, Laine Williams, Bowen Williams, Reegan Howell, Blake Ware, Lawson Howell, Graham Ware, Archer Williams, and Fletcher Ware.
Tommy was a Navy lieutenant and pilot during World War II, serving at Hickam Airfield in Hawaii. After the war, he was stationed at Columbus Naval Air Station where he met Mary Jo Stewart, who became his wife on January 1 1946. They were married for 69 years. 
Following the war, Tommy used the GI Bill to attend Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. He was a mortician at Cox Funeral Home for several years, then opened Thomesen Cleaners and Laundry on West Beauregard. Later, Tommy would become manager of the San Angelo Coliseum and City Auditorium. Tommy then attended University of Houston, taking courses which enabled him to become president of Concho Educators Federal Credit Union. He retired from that post, but returned to be president of 1st Community Federal Credit Union.
Tommy was a Rotarian and had over 50 years of perfect attendance. He served as president of San Angelo West Rotary in 1972-1973 and was Rotarian of the Year in 1994-1995. He also served as President and Director of Texas Educators Credit Union Association.

Juan Guerra passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the age of 63. Juan is preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Guadalupe Guerra and his brothers, Alfredo, Oscar and Jesus Guerra. Juan is survived by his loving wife, Adelita of 28 years. Also surviving are his brothers, David Guerra, Daniel Guerra (Azucena), Francisco Guerra, Jr. (Rosa Linda); sister, Sylvia Guerra; favorite niece, Margarita and numerous nieces and nephews. His nieces and nephews loved their "Uncle Juan". Juan graduated from Hebbronville H.S., before serving in the United States Air Force. Juan was a devout Catholic, with much faith in God. Juan enjoyed "simple" things and cherished every moment. He loved savoring the cooking of others. Although quiet and reserved, Juan's "presence" was found in his gentle spirit and humble manner. Juan's expression of his love of Adelita was profound and steadfast, always demonstrating the value of marriage and the importance of God's presence in that union. A private family visitation will be held on Sunday, September 10th at 4:00 p.m. with rosary open to the public at 6:00 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 11th at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church with burial to follow in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

George Kenneth White, 88, passed away Friday, Aug.18, 2017 after battling dementia for many years. He was born in San Angelo, Texas on June 29, 1929 to George T. White and Lillian (Reed) White. After graduating from Central High, George joined the U.S. Marines in May of 1946 and was honorably discharged in September of 1949. He had many great memories of being stationed at the Kodiak Island, Alaska installation.
George returned to San Angelo several years later to get married and raise his family. He worked in sporting goods sales, followed by many years in life insurance, and eventually started his own roofing business from which he retired in his late seventies.
Most will remember George as an avid bass fisherman. He was a longtime member of the Concho Bass Club, and won many local fishing tournaments. Perhaps his greatest fishing victory was winning the 1971 Texas State Bass Tournament on Lake Whitney. Even in his retirement years he could be found on the in-town Concho River paddling along in his kayak, fishing and picking up trash off the banks.
George is survived by his sons Clifford and George L. White; daughter Janice Rivers; 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. There will be a public viewing from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23 at Harper Funeral Home, and the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 24 at the Harper Funeral Home Chapel. Suggested memorials may be given in George’s name to Baptist Memorial or any Alzheimer research institution. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care that the Baptist Memorial staff, particularly the Sagecrest Unit, gave towards George through the entirety of his convalescence there.

James L. “Jim” Eimer 61, passed away, Thursday, August 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on May 26, 1956 to Mallory and Ruth Eimer in Tucson, AZ. Jim married the love of his life Bonnie Huebener in Roswell, NM on August 1, 1982. Jim would go on to receive a Petroleum Technology degree at ENMU. Jim and family moved to Tx for him to take a position as shop foreman with K-Mart. Later, he sold Auto Parts for a few years, prior to accepting position at Goodfellow AFB. Jim loved to work on cars, particularly sports cars. He loved going to car shows with friends, Eric Hansen and Harry LaClair. His friends would bring him cars and he would help them rebuild the engines always asking, “How fast do you want to go?”. He also spent time reloading and researching all kinds of things.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and one sibling Judith Burroughs.
Mr. Eimer is survived by his wife of 35 years Bonnie Eimer, two sons Jon L. Eimer and wife Danielle, Jacob S. Eimer and wife Malea Eimer, one step son Timothy J. Novelli, Grandson Kyle James Eimer, Step Grandson Shawn Evan Halfmann, and Step Granddaughter, Gracelyn White.

Stephanie Navarro, 33 of San Angelo, TX passed away on August 31, 2017.

She was born in San Angelo to Mr. Steve and Irene Navarro on February 27, 1984. Stephanie graduated from Lake View High School and received a Bachelors of Science from Howard College.

She was engaged to Javier Nino. Stephanie was a full time student at Howard College before she became ill.

Stephanie loved to spend time with her family especially going out to eat and spending time with the love of her life Javier and her daughter Abby. She was survived by her daughter Abigail Kloe Nino; her parents Steve and Irene Navarro; her fiancée Javier Nino; and a sister Amanda and husband David Losoya all of San Angelo, TX.

Juan "Chito" De La Rosa passed away suddenly on August 31, 2017 due to injuries sustained in an oilfield accident.

He will be dearly missed. Chito loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand, lending his many talents to all. He was a welder, mechanic, builder and was always willing to try or learn new trades. He loved his children dearly and spent all of his spare time with them. Whenever he could, he took the time to teach his nieces and nephews the importance of hard work and responsibility.

Chito dearly loved his parents and was known for the enormous respect that he showed to them. Although he was quiet natured, he was quick to share a laugh and spread joy to all around him.

He loved horse racing and baseball and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by his sons: Osbaldo "Aaron" DeLaRosa, Diego Gael DeLaRosa, his parents: Reginaldo and Maria DeLaRosa, his sister, Norma Hernandez, and her husband, Santos, his brothers: Reginaldo DeLaRosa, Jr. and his wife, Vanessa, Joel DeLaRosa and Rolando DeLaRosa and his wife, Berenisse, his grandfather: Juan Villarreal, Sr. and his grandmother: Maria DeLaRosa, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Petra Villarreal and his paternal grandfather: Vicente DeLaRosa.

Visitation will be Monday, September 4 ,2017, at the Apostolic Church in Big Lake from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 2 PM also at the Apostolic Church, with burial to follow at Glen Rest Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Big Lake community and the Apostolic Church for their outpouring of support during this very difficult time.

Virginia Ruth Wood White, 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2017, following a 4-year struggle with Alzheimer's.

Virginia was born August 6, 1934, in Bogata, Texas, to Howard P. Wood and Mary J. Bryson Wood. She attended schools in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from Lake View High School. Virginia married George F. White on January 30, 1954. They were blessed with two sons, Wesley Wayne White and Rayford Jay White.

Virginia worked for General Telephone Company (GTE) for 30 years, retiring in 1985. After retiring from GTE, Virginia went to work for Smith Rose and Finley law firm for several more years. Virginia is a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was active in her High School class reunion organization. She loved spending time with friends and family, but was especially devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Marilyn Mohler, brother Jerry Wood, half-brother Gene Wood, and granddaughters Chrystal and Tara White. She is survived by her children, Wesley W. White and wife Janet of San Angelo; Rayford J. White and wife Kelley of Keller and half-sister Linda Mayo of San Angelo. Virginia is also survived by grandchildren, Bryson J. White and wife Chelsea of Houston, and Wesley S. White and wife Amanda of Austin. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Hatira Jones and husband Xavier, Brooklynn Gray, and Harvey White. Virginia has a great-great granddaughter Aaliyah, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Jim Glenn Strother, Jr, 82, went to be his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 31st, at his home in Allen, TX.

There will be a visitation at Harper Funeral Home on Monday, September 4, from 6pm to 8pm.

Family burial service on Tuesday, September 5, at 10am at Fairmount Cemetery with a memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life on Tuesday at 1pm at Johnson Street Church of Christ in San Angelo.

Jim was born June 24, 1935. The son of James and Carrie Strother of San Angelo. He was raised in San Angelo where he attended school from 1st grade through Junior College at Angelo State. He received his degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1958 before beginning his career in the oil industry. He began his work life with Magnolia Oil (later Mobil). Jim then moved to Tenneco Oil Company in 1963 where he worked in many capacities in engineering and management for 33 years. He met his wife of 58 years, Estelle Prather, in Snyder, TX. They were married on June 29, 1959. Jim and Estelle and their family lived in various locations in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Calgary, Alberta. In his moves he relied on his Church of Christ family in many ways. He was very active in church activities and often in leadership roles in the congregations. After retirement, Jim and Estelle moved back to San Angelo and enjoyed traveling and seeing God’s creation. They were members at the Johnson Street Church of Christ for over 20 years. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hiking, and looking for arrowheads.

He was beloved for his sharp wit, contagious laugh and his joy of life. His children and grandchildren will especially miss him around the game table and will fondly remember their mostly unsuccessful attempts to beat PaPa at whatever game they were playing. He is survived by his loving wife, Estelle, of Allen, TX where they have lived for the past 5 years.

He is also survived by his three sons, Steve and Ruth Ann Strother of Allen, TX, Scott and Reola Strother of Bridgeport, TX and Sander and Gail Strother of Bakersfield, CA. Seven grandchildren, Brandon and Tracey Strother of Rosenberg, TX, Patrick and Rosie Strother of Waco, TX, Alyson and Eric Locke of Savannah, TX, John and Dylana Strother of San Diego, CA, Luke Strother of Bakersfield, CA, Nathaniel Strother and Anna Strother of Bridgeport, TX. Four great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Peyton Strother of Rosenberg, TX, Jonah Locke of Savannah, TX, and Marlee Strother of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Hover and her husband Chuck, of Houston, TX and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
