Norton Jerry Don

Jerry Don Norton, Sr., 73, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019, in San Angelo.

Memorial Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with military honor afforded by Ft. Hood Honor Guard. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo.

Mr. Norton was born September 28, 1945 in Mangum, Oklahoma, growing up in Carrolton. Jerry Don was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict. Jerry Don married Shirley Mages and later married Jacey Warner Hardwick on August 26, 1988 in Waxahachie. He has been a resident of San Angelo since 2016 moving from Garland where he lived for 14 years. Jerry Don was a diesel mechanic, during his career he work for both John Deere and Caterpillar retiring in 2012. Jerry Don was a hardworking, honest man with a great sense of humor, and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottie and Myrtle (Morris) Norton; a brother, Gilbert Ray Norton; two sisters, Catherine Richardson and Wanda Gail Meyers; and a nephew, Lee Thomas Wise.

Survivors include his wife, Jacey Warner Norton of the home; two sons, Jerry Don Norton, Jr. of Carrolton and Ronnie Norton both of Grand Prairie; a daughter, Sue Ann Bouldin of Dallas; six grandchildren, Bobbie Chandler, Brittany Chandler, Holly Norton, Zachary Norton, Justin Norton and Rachel Norton; three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Consuelo L. Gonzalez, age 89, of San Angelo, Texas entered into rest on Wednesday August 28, 2019. Consuelo was born October 26, 1929 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. A Memorial Service for Consuelo will be held Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 5:00 PM at The Church of Bread of Life, 200 W. 14th st. San Angelo, TX. Tommie Lee Johnson, 71, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2019 in San Angelo. Tommie was born January 30, 1948 in Marlin, Texas to Joe Bailey Johnson and Mae Bell Hunter Johnson. Tommie worked as a food service employee at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Civil Service for over 30 years. He married Pilar Bustamante on March 7, 2018 in San Angelo, Texas. Tommie was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. His favorite hobbies were fishing, watching westerns and Dallas Cowboys football on television and listening to his music. Tommie also loved to laugh and loved joking around with everyone. His life love and laughter will live on in our hearts forever. Tommie was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Joe Bailey Johnson, Jr, DeWayne Johnson and Ray Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Pilar Johnson, of San Angelo; his children, Juan Vasquez, Monica Torres, Catalina Vasquez, Patricia Vasquez, Angelina Vasquez and Anthony Matthews; his grandchildren, Dominique Lorraine Marie Vasquez, Louis Delgado, Miamaraiah Vasquez, Consuelo Pilar Lopez, Faith Pruitt, Zabella Le, Alyssa Reyes, Daniel Mata, Marisol Guadalupe Vasquez, Mariposa Grace Vasquez Ponce, Eloy Vasquez Ponce, Jr., Ricardo Miguel Canales Vasquez, Canaan Matthews and Markquest Matthews; his sisters, Carolyn Newton, Edna Cannon, Betty Gibbs and Gladys Johnson; his Brother, Elvis Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and close friends. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Harper Funeral Home with Pastor Noe Hernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Belvedere Memorial Park.

Ricks George Wesley

The very best Daddys in life are promoted throughout their years to PawPaws and Granddaddys and eventually to a guardian angel. George Wesley Ricks, 97, was promoted to his guardian angel status Saturday, August 24, 2019, in San Angelo. "Mr. Ricks","Daddy", "PawPaw", "Uncle George", "Uncle Buddy" began blessing the lives of others starting with his birth to Robert and Dolly Ricks on August 9, 1922 in Abbott, Arkansas.

George will be available for viewing from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Santa Anna Cemetery with Mr. Carl Smith, officiating. Military honors will be afforded by the Fort Hood Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Known for his kind spirit, big heart, infectious sense of humor and personality, George never met a stranger, always going above and beyond to lend a hand, encourage or console. His sweet inspiring spirit blessed the lives of so many. He was a man you could count on to make you feel better. George was a great listener, tremendous storyteller and best friend.

George was a patriot, serving and defending the United States during WWII. He walked miles with his brothers in battle after sailing across the ocean to defend our nation in Germany. His Army Company was one of the first troops that liberated Dachau Concentration Camp. George married Mary Jo Autrey on October 8, 1947 in Kermit. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1995. After moving to San Angelo he became very involved in the San Angelo community. He was a member of the San Angelo Police Department Academy Board, Lake View ISD School Board, a founding member and first president of the North Angelo Lions Club, a deacon of the Lake View Baptist church and Edmund Blvd. Baptist Church. George was a mechanic by trade and a longtime business owner of Ricks Phillips 66, retiring in 1985. George was an avid Lake View sports fan, still holding a pass to all Lake View sporting events. He enjoyed following the Chiefs, but his greatest love was watching his daughters play basketball for the Maidens. George and Mary Jo were enthusiastic bowlers and they enjoyed that sport together for many, many years. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lee Ricks; two sisters, Nina Ricks and Lina Tonne; and his second wife of 20 years, Billie Ricks.

Survivors include six daughters, Glenda Cline of Hewitt, Kathy Savage and husband Paul of Baytown, Rita Smetana and husband Ronnie of San Angelo, Connie White and husband David of Dublin, Theresa Lambert of Canyon Lake, Sharon Waldrop and husband Tuffy of San Angelo; and his step-daughter, Carla Wristen of Dallas; George had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. George loved his family very, very much, especially all of the "little ones" as he used to call them.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff of Baptist Memorial Highrise and Hospice of San Angelo for the love and care.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Joe Bill Lee, 90, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019, in San Angelo.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 31, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Bradford, pastor, officiating. Private burial will be at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Lee was born January 26, 1929, in Kirbyville. Joe Bill was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Elaine Augustinus on June 26, 1965 in San Angelo. He got his undergraduate degree from Texas A & I and received his Master of Library Science from the University of Texas at Austin. Joe Bill was the head librarian at Angelo State University nearly 30 years until 1992, and he was very instrumental in designing and building the Porter Henderson Library. After his retirement, the Friends of the Porter Henderson Library and West Texas Collection established a scholarship in his name to be given to an outstanding library student assistant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the West Angelo Kiwanis Club for more than 50 years, serving in all the different club offices.

Survivors include his wife Elaine Lee; a daughter, Linda Cox and husband Geoffrey of Austin; a son, Kenneth Lee of San Angelo; and two grandchildren, Elena Cox and Joseph Cox, both of Austin. Joe Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Sam "Buster" Lee and Max Lee; and a sister, Marguerite “Kitty” McKee.

Memorials may be made to the Joe Bill Lee Scholarship, ASU Foundation, ASU Station #11023, San Angelo, Texas 76909 or Meals for the Elderly, 310 E Houston Harte Expy, San Angelo, Texas 76903.
