Wilson Lawrence Ronald

12/17/2019 - 09:37 , by zoey@hydeinter…

Lawrence Ronald Wilson was born on November. 8th, 1932 in Big Spring, TX to Ara May Norrell and Robert Lee Wilson. Lawrence went to be with his creator on Monday, December 16th, 2019. He was the eighth child in a big and loving family. This is where his passion for family was instilled at a very young age. Lawrence attended Big Spring High School, where he graduated in 1950. His first job was as a Movie Theatre Usher making just a few cents a day. He spent his summers doing manual work with his family’s Construction company and loved spending this time with his older brothers despite how tough the labor was and how much teasing was involved. These experiences encouraged hard work, which would be the theme of his life. Upon graduating from high school, Lawrence attended Texas Tech University where he studied Electrical Engineering. In 1953, he joined the Air Force where he obtained a second Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics. During his time in the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Patricia Jeanne Dickson of San Angelo, TX. These two would spend the next 61 years together. Their first date was to see the movie Around the World in 80 Days. Soon after, they were married on June 2nd, 1957 and would begin their own journey around the world. Lawrence and Jeanne had two children, Lawrence Ronald Wilson Jr. and Kelley Elizabeth Wilson. Lawrence’s successful career allowed them to live and travel as a family all over the United States and Europe, while making wonderful memories together. There was nothing more important to Lawrence than his family. Spending time with the people he loved was all he would ever need in his life. He was out numbered for many years, as his daughter Kelley gave him four granddaughters. This may have intimidated some men, but for him, he loved a challenge. He instilled in them a few of his values – integrity, hard work, independence, and the importance of a good sense of humor. Lawrence loved to travel to new places. He enjoyed Shakespeare, British Comedy, and all kinds of music. He was a very talented puzzler, solitaire champion, Turtle candy connoisseur, and bridge player. He had the ability to accomplish any task given to him ranging from building a tree house to building a television. When you ask people who knew Lawrence, they would tell you that Lawrence was brilliant, generous, logical, and genuine. Lawrence touched the lives of so many and is leaving the world a much better place than when he arrived.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jeanne Wilson; father and mother, Robert Lee Wilson and Ara May Norrell; his three sisters, Margaret Louise Hughes, Ara Elsie Caywood, and May Dell Johnston; four brothers, Charles Eugene Wilson, Jack Carrington Wilson, Robert Earl Wilson, and Ralph Raymond Wilson; granddaughter, Kristen Leigh Millican and grandson, Tomi Wilson. Lawrence is survived by his son and daughter, Lawrence Ronald Wilson Jr. and Kelley Wilson Millican; his granddaughters, Katie Renee Gully, Kara Noel King, and Kayla Taylor Millican; grandson in law, Wade Houston King, and great grandchildren, Kelton Ethan Gully, Kaden Lawrence Lee Gully, Raia Cebele Avants, and Oliver Hanley Taylor.

Lawrence’s family invites you to his graveside burial service on Thursday, December 19th at 2:00pm at Belvedere Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a viewing for friends and family on Wednesday, December 18th from 5:00-7:00pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home.

Farmer Tracey Michelle

12/16/2019 - 10:27 , by zoey@hydeinter…

Tracey Michelle Farmer age 52 of San Angelo, passed away peacefully at her home, on Thursday, December 12th, 2019. Tracey was born on April 7th, 1967, at Misawa Air Force Base, Misawa Japan. A year after her birth, the region was severely damaged in the Tokachi earthquake of 1968. Perhaps a prelude of things to come.

Tracey returned to the United States with her mother, following the earthquake in Japan, settling in San Angelo, Texas, home to her mother and family. As Tracey grew, she experienced the all to familiar tragedy of the introduction of siblings into her secluded life, a brother, followed by a sister, then a step-brother and step-sister...then a cow named "Hotshot". After failing to sell or trade her siblings to the lowest bidder, or convince them they were all adopted, Tracey decided to just endure their existence, maybe they could serve a purpose later in life. In 1977, Tracey and her family moved to the north side of San Angelo, a new development on the Lake View side of town called "Garnet Acres". Tracey's father would tragically pass away at the age of 32, only eight months after moving into their family home. Tracey attended Goliad Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and Lake View High School where she graduated in 1985.

Tracey was a spirited child and teenager. During the 1970's, she loved spending time watching movies with her siblings and father, who was a projectionist at the Angelo Twin Drive-In movie theater in the 1970's. She enjoyed all of the things life offered during this period, riding bicycles in her quiet, safe neighborhood with her friends until the street lights came on, roller skating when wheels were on all four sides of the skates at Eight Wheels, going to Shakey's and ShowBiz Pizza, dreaming of marriage to Andy Gibb or Leif Garret, hanging out with her friends and family, chasing boys, simply living for the moment, a trait that would define the rest of her life and be the envy of the rest of us. After graduation, Tracey experienced everything San Angelo had to offer. She married and became quite an entrepreneur.

Quick-witted, funny, attractive and shrewd with finances, Tracey co-owned and managed one of San Angelo's most successful sports bars during the 1990's. Tracey loved to travel and loved to visit Las Vegas. After several business ventures, Tracey settled down and became a social media stand-up comedian. Tracey used her quick wit and bawdy sense of humor to keep thousands of her friends entertained. Many people, all over the country, started and ended their day with one of Tracey's many observations and musings, leaving a smile on their face. Tracey loved life, loved living it to the fullest and encouraged each of us who knew her to do the same. Tracey taught us all to stop taking ourselves so seriously, love more and laugh often.

Tracey is survived by her mother, Peggy Farmer of San Angelo, brother Michael and wife Rachelle Farmer of San Angelo, sister Shelbye Farmer and husband Ricky Winans of Washington State, brother Raymond Sherwood of Pennsylvania, sister Shannon Sherwood Matejka of Hitchcock, Texas, Patricia "Aunt Pat" Snow of San Angelo, cousins Valerie, Billy, Andy and Matthew Snow. Extended family Joe and Martha Lopez, Martin Lopez, Monica Lopez. Parents Bruce and Beverly Thomas, sisters Lisa, Dana, Jillian and Megan of Calgary, Canada. Tracey also leaves behind four nieces, seven nephews and one great nephew. Tracey was preceded in death by her father Archie Edwin Farmer Jr. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her final days on this Earth, particularly two of the most important people in her life, Salvador Deanda and Peggy Smith, both of San Angelo and her fur babies, Ellie May, Jethro Bodine and Sam. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the San Angelo Animal Shelter in Tracey's name.
