Austin LBJ topped Corpus Christi Miller 59-54 in a tough tilt during this Texas football game.

There was no room for doubt as the Jaguars added to their advantage with a 15-8 margin in the closing period.

The Buccaneers moved ahead of the Jaguars 46-44 to start the fourth quarter.

Austin LBJ registered a 38-32 advantage at halftime over Corpus Christi Miller.

The two teams dueled to an even start, with Austin LBJ and Corpus Christi Miller settling for a 16-16 first-quarter knot.

Elia C. Hinojos

Elia C. Hinojos passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 6, in San Angelo TX after a prolonged illness. 

Elia, 85, was born in Pear Valley, McCullough County, TX, to Jesus and Olivia (Lopez) Cervantes and grew up in Millersview, TX as the youngest of four sisters. 

Elia married Charlie S. Hinojos on April 30, 1960, in Olfen, Tx and they made their home in San Angelo where they raised their three daughters. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was active in supporting her husband’s business. Later in life, she enjoyed church activities and keeping in touch with family and friends.  

Elia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charlie S. Hinojos of San Angelo; three daughters, Rosemary Hinojos, Magda Ramirez (Joe) both of Austin and Yolanda Franco of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Gabriela Ramirez of Austin and Matthew, Annamarie and Michael Franco of San Angelo; sister Rosalva Flores of Fort Worth; brother-in-law Pete Hinojos of San Angelo and sister-in-law Emma Hernandez of Lubbock; and numerous extended family. 

Elia was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Maria Elida Cervantes and Olivia Graciela Gutierrez of Fort Worth and Infant daughter Alva Elia Hinojos. 

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Elia’s various caregivers over the last several years including Georgia Canandy of Austin, Jovita Diaz; Sara Martinez and her staff: Betty and Olga. 

A rosary will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in San Angelo to be followed by interment at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Rudy Reyes Sánchez
He was born on June 19, 1947 to Donato Sr. Sanchez and Maria Sánchez.
He gained his wings on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 11:02pm.
The Funeral will be held at Robert Massie Thursday, December 7, 2020 at 6pm and Friday, December 8, 2020 at 1pm. Rudy Sánchez is survived by his wife Emma Sánchez of 47 years. Rudy is also survived by three children Lorene Galvan and husband Raul Galvan III, Arlene Pena and husband Martin Pena, Charles Sánchez and wife Stephanie Sánchez. Grandchildren: Jonathan, Crystal, Ashley, Alicia, Martin Brandan, Amanda, Abigail, Raul IV, Samuel, and Chloe.
14 Great- Grandchildren: Aaron, Easiah, Annalyssa, Aadan, Leon, Arianna, Alectra, Ariana Jay, Jace, Joshua, Aiden, Austin, Jacob, and Alpha 
He had several brothers Richard, Israel, Ignacio, Donato Jr., Mitch and their wives and children. He was preceded by his brother David and his sister Maria. Rudy worked for Zenthners Daughter for more than 47 years. He worked and supported his family all his life. Most of all he was a man of great faith. He believed God always had the last word. He loved his wife, his children and all his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren with all his heart. He is now singing with Angels! Amen!

Richard L. Lee Turner

Richard “Bub” Turner of San Angelo passed away Tuesday December 1, 2020 in San Angelo at the age of 87 years. He was born February 11, 1933 to William and Carrie Turner in Sanderson, Texas.
Richard married Rachel Mayfield on February 28, 1953 in Del Rio, Texas. They lived several places in Texas before settling in Fort Stockton where they raised their family. He was a truck driver for years. He later became a ranch foreman on ranches in Terrell and Pecos County. After retiring from ranching, he became a school bus driver. He was past master of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Stockton. He was a deacon in the First Christian Church of Fort Stockton. He was “Dadoo” to some of his grandkids and “Grandpa” to the others. After Rachel had to be admitted to the nursing home in Fort Stockton, he found another companion “Freddy” his little dog, who became his best friend & went everywhere with him. He will be dearly missed.
Richard is survived by his daughters Cindy Turner of San Angelo, Nanette Johnson and husband Brent of San Angelo; -daughter in law Susie Turner of Georgetown; his brothers, Jim Turner of Uvalde and Lynn Turner of Kerrville; his sister Janie Blackwelder of San Angelo; his grandchildren Marlissa Byrd, Heather Hicks, Michael, Scott and Blake Turner, Kobi Byrd, Morgan & Claire Hicks, Danny & Jaci Valenzuela, Carson, Clayton and Annaleigh Turner, lots of nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Rachel of 65 years and his son Clayton Turner.
Special thanks to St. Gabriel’s Hospice, Dr. Steven Coates, Park Plaza Nursing & Rehabilitation where he had many special nurses and excellent care. Thanks to all of his coffee drinking buddies in Fort Stockton who watched over him after Rachel left. Also, Larenda at the Manor Apartments who gave him lots of good advice and became a very special friend when he needed one.
