Judy was born and raised in South Carolina but after marriage she saw the world with her U.S. Air Force husband George. From Texas to the Philippines, where she became a certified lifeguard and taught the village children to swim. This was important to her because her own father had drowned trying to save a child. She did this to honor his memory. She made sure her children knew how to swim. They moved back to Texas where they eventually settled. First in Houston, she became a Boy Scout Den mother, she regularly drove her kids to baseball, football, Astroworld and Galveston beach. She loved to garden, fish and cook her southern dishes. She was a light to all who knew her. She was a friend to many. She and George moved to Carlsbad Texas and became business owners and opened up G & J's Café and liquor store and ran it for 20 years. They retired to travel and enjoy the rest of their life. Judy did not stay idle for long becoming a member of the "Order of the Eastern Star" where she did community service. Julia enjoyed Eastern Star and was truly dedicated to charity, truth and loving kindness.
She is a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She instilled a sense of humor and wonder in her grandchildren. She taught them that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, pray daily, and love your family. She loved to collect coins and sport cards and she instilled those hobbies in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be missed beyond measure. She is survived by her daughter; Treasha Ellington & son in law Buddy of Columbia SC. Son; Donnie L. Wright Jr. Of Florida. Son; Kenneth O. Compton and daughter in law Paula of Sante Fe Texas. Son; Jeffery W. Compton and daughter in law Jan of San Angelo Texas. Daughter; Deborah A. Searcy and son in law Terry of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Daughter; Sabrina Compton of San Angelo, Texas. Son; Robert E. Compton and daughter in law Ivy of San Angelo, Texas. She was blessed with 16 amazing grandchildren and 13 amazing great grandchildren.

Proverbs 31:25-31
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise.

We will miss you Mother until the end of our days. Our hearts will hold you tight always.

Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love.
