SAN ANGELO— The biker involved in the serious crash Tuesday night on S. Bryant at Ave. L. suffered from serious injuries according to information released by San Angelo Police Thursday.
Tuesday night, the San Angelo Police Department issued a nixle regarding a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of South Bryant Boulevard and Avenue L.
According to the Public Information Officer Kelsey Hernandez, the driver of the motorcycle was traveling northbound on South Bryant Boulevard and a white Ford Transient Connect van was traveling south on South Bryant. The Ford van attempted to turn east on Avenue L when the motorcycle, which was traveling at a high rate of speed, crashed into the van.
The biker was transported to Shannon Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
While at this crash, another crash had occurred two blocks south at Avenue N and South Bryant where a light pole had been hit. The pole could be seen leaning over the McDonald’s parking lot.
No information about this crash has been released other than the fact that both of these crashes were not related and just happened to occur at the same time and in close proximity.
This is the third crash involving motorcycles in as many weeks. On Sunday, a three-wheeled motorcycle was involved in a crash and a Bentwood cook was seriously injured in a bike crash last week.

Ride a motorcycle around town at a high rate of speed on a frequent basis is literally asking to become an organ donor, sooner rather than later, and I have zero sympathy for them when they suffer life threatening injuries. I'm not disparaging bikers, just those who ride like idiots at speeds much too fast. Personally, I prefer the features that keep me safe(er) in my car, seat belts, airbags, crumple zones, etc. And even then, I drive like I would ride a motorcycle, that is, as if I knew that every driver on the road was on a mission to kill me.

PermalinkYou are a wise man. In my youth, many years ago, I perched on a motorcycle or two. Great fun. There is nothing quite like the rush when you twist that throttle.
No longer. I am way too old to be on a bike and worry about every damn vehicle on the road with me, especially in the areas in which I have driven over the years.
I am content with my pussymobile. Lots of horsepower but still a safe thing to drive... with a transmission I can control. It ain't quite like a three-pedal ride, but it's close. Dang, but I miss driving a car with a clutch..
