Following a tough defeat at the Hereford Whitefaces’ hands last week, the Lake View Chiefs opened up district play tonight, Oct. 15. Hoping for a better outing against the Fort Stockton Panthers at San Angelo Stadium, the Chiefs seemed ready. However, the inability to stop the run along with mental mistakes and multiple turnovers sunk the Chiefs’ chance at a win. Lake View gets pummeled tonight and lose their district opener, 65-28.
San Angelo's Mathis Field's main runway has been undergoing a facelift this month. The runway has been closed for about two weeks while crews are sealcoating runway 18-36. While the project is ongoing, runway 9-27 is closed to allow aircraft faster access to the only open runway, 3-21.
