OZONA, TX – As previously reported, on Wednesday, April 22, firefighters with the Texas A&M Forest Service were called in to fight a wildfire along with Crockett County firefighters near Holcomb Road which initially broke out around 7 p.m on April 19.
Wednesday morning, the wildfire blazing through Crockett and Val Verde counties had grown to nearly 24,000 acres, while firefighters called in air tankers to suppress the fire.
Following Thursdays update from the Forest Service reports indicate the fire has grown to 26,500 acres, currently sitting at 20% contained.
