The passage of this legislative package represents a significant victory for the taxpayers of rural West Texas and the Concho Valley, who are seeing their income continually bludgeoned by skyrocketing property taxes.

The package includes a $5.3 billion expansion of the homestead exemption from $40,000 to $100,000 and a temporary 20% cap on appraisal increases for properties valued at $5 million or lower that aren’t considered homesteads.

Never, ever leave a child or a pet in a locked car.  That's beyond stupid.  It's criminal. 

Tom Green County Detention Facility Corrections Officers booked 16 individuals into jail in the last 24 hours on charges ranging from Fraud to Public Intoxication to Possession of Marijuana to Warrant Arrests.
