Donald Robert Holbrook Sr.

Donald Robert ‘Bob’ Holbrook, of San Angelo, went to be with his Lord & Savior on May 12, 2021 at the age of 78. He was born on April 11, 1943 in Rochester, New York, to Donald and Dorothy (Myers) Holbrook.  
He and is his sister, Judie, lived in many cities while their dad served in the Army finally settling in El Paso, Tx where he graduated from Bel Air High School in 1961. While attending Bel Air High School, he met the love of his life, Patricia ‘Pat’ Barry. They married on September 4, 1964, in El Paso. Bob joined the army and they moved to Germany, where their first child, Deborah Lynn, was born. He served his country proudly for 7 years. Upon returning to the states they settled in Tecumseh, Michigan, where their second child, Donald Robert Jr, was born.  
Bob started working for GTE in 1972 and 32 years later retired from Verizon. His jobs at the phone company included installation and repair, then cable splicer, and lastly working in the call center until retirement.  
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and taking trips with his motorcycle buddies. He enjoyed all things technology related and was known as ‘Gadget Guy’. He loved to putter outside taking care of the lawn and keeping things tidy in the yard. He loved to fly his flags and had several flag poles on the property. He loved to collect things such as: pocketknives, flashlights, and Beanie babies.  
Pat survives her husband of 56 years and lives in San Angelo, Tx, next door to their daughter’s family, Mike and Debbie Martin and granddaughters Rylee and Chandler. Their son and daughter-in-law, Don and Celina Holbrook, reside in Canton, Tx, their sons: Cody and Samantha of Farmersville, Tx; Russell and Mason of Plano, Tx; Logan and Ryhannah of Canton, TX; Craig of Canton, Tx; and Colby of Terrell, Tx. Together they have 7 great-grandchildren: Abby, Hailey, Sophie, Ryley, Kodah, Sadie, and Emmylou. He was loved by and greatly loved his nieces Danelle Schmidt and Shannon Holcombe. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, John ‘Mac’ McMurray with whom he had many great times black Friday shopping. 
A visitation will be held at on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Glen Meadows Baptist Church.

Bill Delton Holton Jr.

Bill Holton, a lifelong resident of San Angelo TX, was born on June 24, 1952 and passed away on April 10, 2021 in Austin TX. Bill passed away unexpectedly from a brain bleed after undergoing a procedure to insert a heart pump. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday, May 22nd from 10:30 to 1:30 the Pavilion at Kid's Kingdom Park on the river in downtown San Angelo. 
Bill was born to parent Retha Marie Banks Holton in San Angelo TX. Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith Morris Holton, sons Jason Del of San Angelo and Zane Dreke (Kayla) of Virginia Beach Virginia. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Andrew David, Parker Aurel, and Paxton Zane Holton. 
Bill attended San Angelo Central High School and graduated in 1970. Soon after high school where he began his construction career, he worked with Wooten Plumbing. He continued his construction career working with several local custom home builders. In 1985, Bill was hired to teach Building Trades at Central High School, a job he truly loved. For next 25 years, he made a life-long impression on his many students and parents alike. He was not only a skilled carpenter, but also a dedicated teacher. 
Bill retired in 2011 from Central High School and continued his next career in driving buses for the Athletic Department at Angelo State University (ASU), his most favorite was the Women's Volleyball team. 
His lifelong love was sports and children from Little League to High School. He coached a variety of sports such as YMCA football, women's softball, and a season for soccer at Lee Junior High. Along with coaching, Bill umpired baseball from Little League to Semi-Pro in West TX for most of his life. 
The family of Bill Holton would like to express their appreciation for the many professionals who cared for him during his illness to include Dr. Chris Haddad and staff, the nurses on the 4th floor at Shannon Hospital, Dr. Jerome Thomas and his team, the nurses in ICU at Heart Hospital of Austin, and the ICU physicians and team at St. David Hospital, also in Austin. In addition to his medical care, many friends and family donated funds for the heart pump he received and the additional funds to allow Judy to stay with Bill during the duration of his hospitalization.

Winnie Maurine "Posey" Long

Winnie Maurine (Posey) Long, age 97, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 12. A celebration of life service will be held at First Christian Church, 29 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas on Saturday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. T. J. Shoop-York officiating. Following the service, an inurnment will be held in the columbarium. 

Posey was born May 29, 1923, in San Angelo, Texas to Leonard Ulmont and Winnie Davis Camp Posey. She attended area schools and graduated from Water Valley High School, Water Valley, Texas in May 1940. She attended San Angelo Junior College from 1940-1941. 

Posey married Everett Keith Long of Brook, Indiana in June 1945 lacking just 13 days of celebrating their 68 years of marriage before Keith’s passing in June 2013. 

Posey was active in all sports in high school and even played basketball. She was an avid bowler and secretary of several leagues. She loved all sports even after she could no longer participate, she enjoyed watching them in person or on television. She particularly loved Duke University basketball and all of her son’s (Kevin) teams. 

Posey was somewhat of a tomboy growing up and was always out helping her father with ranch work. In later years, she did please her mother by needle pointing a pillow which her mother entered in the exhibits of the San Angelo Fat Stock Show and Rodeo and won a red ribbon. 

Posey and Keith were long time members of the Lake View Christian Church before moving to Abilene, Texas in 1969 at which time Keith became the Media Director for Region XIV Education Service Center. They were active members of the Brookhollow Christian Church in Abilene. When Keith took early retirement, they moved back to San Angelo and joined First Christian Church. Posey was a member of the Henson Sunday School Class, served as Elder, and Chair of the Elders. One of her most rewarding positions in the church was being on the Nurture Committee serving meals to the bereaved. Posey was a Stephen Minister and had a greeting card ministry that touched most every family in the church. 

Posey held a number of bookkeeping positions including West Texas Boys Ranch, M. D. Bryant, Bynum Myers (Abilene), R. J. Brown Estate (Abilene) and General Telephone Company. 

Posey is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Winnie Posey; sister, Mary Len Browning and husband, Eugene Browning, brother-in-law John Westbrook; her husband Everett Keith Long; daughter, Sandy Long Jenkins and best friend of 78 years, Jackie Sissel. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Long Pettit and husband Donald Pettit of Albemarle, NC; son, Edwin (Eddie) Keith Long of San Angelo; son, Robert Kevin Long and wife Renee Medford Long of Abilene; son-in-law, Norman Ray Jenkins of San Angelo; her grandchildren: Jason Ray Jenkins and wife Alexandra of Oak Park, Illinois; Erin Pettit Rumble and husband, Brett Rumble of Charlotte, NC; Neil Warren Pettit and wife Nicolette Hendrix Pettit of Asheville, NC; Everett Seth Long of Abilene, Texas; and great grandson Everett Julius Jenkins of Oak Park, Ill. She is survived by sisters Dorace Jane Westbrook of Morton, Texas; Jo Ann Sherword of Salem, Oregon. Posey is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other friends. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the “Keith Long Memorial Scholarship” fund (P. O. Box 61532, San Angelo, Texas 76906).

Diane Marie Montgomerie

Diane M. Montgomerie of San Angelo passed away May 10, 2021 at the age of 69. She was born in Santa Fe, NM to parents Keith and Marge Bickel. Diane is survived by husband of 41 years, Scott Montgomerie and daughter Kelly Dallas, son-in-law Carl Dallas, grandchildren Hailey, Aaron & Peter, sister & brother-in-law Sheryl & Garth Germack of Albuquerque as well as neice Cindy Bryant and nephew Keith Clark and cousin Barry Bickle. Diane was passionate about all animals, especially those she could rescue, rearranging furniture and anything to do with family. Her beautiful spirit will be missed by those who benefited by her gift to unite the people that mattered most.

John L. Lewis age 71, of San Angelo, entered the gates of Heaven on May 11. 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Public viewing will be on Thursday, May 20, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will be at Belvedere Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home.

John was born in San Angelo on April 1, 1950 to Jesse Lewis and Hazel Wilson.
He was an outdoorsman who especially liked to fish. John also loved singing and dancing.  He would light up a room when he walked in it and had jokes for days.  He was loved by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, James, Roosevelt, and Walter Lewis.

John is survived by his daughters, Lorinda Miller of Ft. Worth, Texas and Brittany Session of San Angelo, Texas; his sisters, Ernestine Bibbs, Charlesetta Jackson, Patricia Lewis, and Anita Lewis; his brothers, Charles Lewis, Jesse Lewis Jr., Richard Lewis, Frank Lewis, Nathaniel Lewis, Ronald Lewis, and C.L. Lewis; and by a grandson, Jaylon Miller.
