Jerry Max Fields

Jerry Max Fields, 73, of San Angelo passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. He was born in San Angelo, TX on November 3, 1942 to Dick and Jewel Fields. Jerry graduated from Irion County. He was married to Patricia Englehart on July 2, 1966. Jerry worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 35 years retiring in 2003, and had a passion for watching kids and grandkids participate in sports. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his in laws, Al and Patsy Englehart. He is survived by his children, Becky Fields and Jana Fields; his grandchildren, Brittany Fields and Hunter Fields; sister-in-law, Donna Englehart; brothers-in-law Mike Englehart and Paul Englehart; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 in the Chapel of Johnson's Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

Robert A. Williams

Robert Abijah Williams, age 94, died peacefully Sunday, November 15, 2015. His service will be held in the chapel at Johnson's Funeral Home Thursday, Nov 19th, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ben Hubert, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Family graveside service will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. A reception and celebration of Bob's life will be held at Royal Estates on Friday, Nov 20th at 2 p.m. Bob was born in Corsicana, Texas to Jethro V. and Anna Mae Williams on March 20, 1921. He had 5 siblings (4 brothers and 1 sister). He is survived by his 2 children; his daughter, Nancy L. Vincent and son-in-law, Drexell S. Vincent of San Angelo; his son, Robert W. Fairchild and daughter-in-law Marty Fairchild of Lawrence, Kansas; and his 9 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Williams. At the age of 31, Bob attended San Angelo College and graduated in 1952. After graduating, he began training at the San Angelo Hospital Lab where he went on to become Chief Technologist until his retirement in 1983. He was also in charge of the Shannon School of Medical Technology from 1958-1971. He retired from Shannon to care for his beloved first wife, Thyra, until the time of her passing in 1987. On August 11, 1990, Bob married Helen P. Fairchild and he remained her faithful friend and loving companion for over 17 years until her passing. Bob was a master Mason and a faithful member of First Christian Church. Bob never passed up the opportunity to play a hand of bridge or a round of golf, which he enjoyed well into his 80s. He and Helen loved traveling and valued the many friendships they made at both Rio Concho West and Royal Estates. Bob affectionately considered each one of Helen's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren his own, and he became a valuable and beloved part of the family. Our Bob was the finest example of kindness and gentleness, and our lives are better thanks to his quick wit, loyalty, and love! After 94 years of a life well-lived, he can enjoy the fruits of his labor in his Heavenly home. Serving as pallbearers will be 6 of Bob's great grandsons; Will Vincent, Cal Vincent, Beau Scott, J. Bryan Vincent, Reid Scott, and Ben Scott. The family requests that all memorials be made to First Christian Church of San Angelo.

William Edmund Neslage

William Edmund Neslage II, passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on November 12, 2015. He was a beloved father, husband, son, brother and friend.

William was born on May 2, 1967 in Pampa, Texas. He and his family moved around Texas and settled in San Angelo in the early 1980's. William was a 1985 graduate of Central High School, where he made life-long friends and was an accomplished member of the golf team - two constants that remained throughout his lifetime. After high school, William obtained his BBA from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Once again, William made life-long friends and brothers. Following college, William was a very successful businessman, working for Magnolia Coca-Cola. William successfully helped reorganized and run operations in areas including San Angelo, El Paso, Las Cruces, Tucson and Mexico. William's tenacity in business was only rivaled by his passion for cooking. He was an amazing cook who had a deep appreciation for good food and great company.

In 1995, William reconnected with a classmate from San Angelo, Kyra Evans. The two hit it off, began dating and were married on April 21, 1998. From their marriage two wonderful children were born, William Edmund Neslage III (Trey) and Karygan. William loved his children more than anything. He was always involved in their lives whether it was through grand excursions supporting Trey's fantastic baseball abilities, to simply watching cartoons with Karygan in his lap. William was a "workaholic" when it came to his job as a father.

William is survived by his wife of nearly 18 years, Kyra Evans Neslage, his son Trey and daughter Karygan, all of San Angelo. He is also survived by his father Bill Neslage and wife Debbie of Brady, Texas; mother Theresa Williams and husband Tom of Lubbock, Texas; sister Elizabeth Gray and husband Deric of Hobbs, New Mexico; Sister Catherine Pruett and husband J. Tom of Hobbs, New Mexico; Sister Catrina Fernandez and husband Ivan of Nuremburg Germany. He is also survived by special in-laws, Pat and W.C. Evans of San Angelo, as well as Kim and Jim Jones, also of San Angelo. William had many very special nieces and nephews whom he always loved. They include Tyler Jones, Kendall Jones, Evan Gray, Channing Gray, Maggie Forga, Casey Forga, Madeline Forga, Knox Forga, and Sebastian Fernandez. He is also survived by countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who greatly love William and his family.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 pm Tuesday November 17th at Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo. Pastor Taylor Sandlin will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Goodwin, John Edward Neslage, Jim Jones, Tyler Jones, Deric Gray, J.Tom Pruett and John David Burk.

In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you consider a donation in William's name to the charity of your choice.

Jan Delores Burleson

Jan D. Burleson, 60 of San Angelo, passed away November 11, 2015, in the comfort of her home. She was born on January 9, 1955 in Lubbock, to parents Ross and Janice Fewell. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Fewell.

She is survived by: her husband, Ruben Burleson; daughter, Rachel Heinen; four siblings, Joyce Reese, Glen Fewell, Jeannie Galloway, and Jerry Fewell; brother-in-law, Gary Galloway; son-in-law, Andrew Heinen; nephews and neice, Jason Fewell, Cody Galloway, Chad Galloway, and Angeleena Ellis; granddaughter, Harper Heinen; and stepdaughter, Sarah Burleson. 

Jan went to Monterrey High School in Lubbock and was a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Education. She taught classes in the Special Education department at Central High School for over 20 years.

Jan was a loving mother, wife, sister, and a friend to many. She enjoyed being a soccer mom and Girl Scout troop leader when her daughter was young. In her free time she loved being on the lake with Ruben and water skiing whenever they had the chance. She was a proud Red Raider and enjoyed watching Tech play football. She also greatly cherished the company of friends and family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice Of San Angelo and the wonderful care provided by Becky, Debbie, and Shirley.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Mertzon Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Andress officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the professionals at Robert Massie Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Of San Angelo, 36 East Twohig Ave #1100, San Angelo, TX 76903.

Doris LaFawn Hannon

Doris LaFawn Hannon, 68, of San Angelo passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at her residence.

Family visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow in Belvedere Memorial Park under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

LaFawn was born on April 6, 1947 in San Angelo to Louis and Doris Hill. She was an avid music lover especially Elvis Presley. She enjoyed gardening, playing skipbo at a master level, having breakfast with her family and friends at Dunbar East and collecting items from Elvis and angels. 

LaFawn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Don Hannon on September 27, 2013.

She is survived by son, Barry (Frances) Patton of Odessa, son, Nicky A. (Sandra) Patton of Midland, son, Bobby Kent (Rhonda) Patton, Jr. of Paris, AR, son, Ricky A. Patton, daughter, Doris Velasquez both of San Angelo, brother, Don (Doie) Hill of Killeen, brother, Louis A. (Susie) Hill, Jr. of Denver, CO, sister, Linda (Aubrey) Baugh of Menard, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond Acosta Sr.

Raymond C. Acosta Sr. 67 of McCamey, Tx, passed away, November 8, 2015 at a hospital in Houston, Texas. 

He was born August 20, 1947 in Fort Stockton, to parents Enemencio Acosta and Augustina Houlgin .

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents. His two sons James Wesley and Robert Acosta. One brother Isidio Zapata and two sisters Maria Cruz Palacios and Maria Munoz. 

He is survived by his children Margaret Burgess (Manual) Lopez, Laurie Acosta (Adan Garcia), and Jeannie Northcut of Fort Stockton, Amy (Brian) Urias of Kermit, Ashley Acosta and Brian Acosta of Kerrville and Raymond C. (Irma) Acosta Jr., of San Angelo; two brothers Jose Longoria, Benjamin Acosta and three sisters Joann Ramirez, Amelia Rodriguez and Yolanda Baiza. Raymond also had 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Our father was a hard working man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved his country music telling a good joke and making people laugh. He was a simple man and loved his wranglers, t-shirt and boots. 

Family visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday November 12, 2015 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held 10:00am Friday November 13, 2015 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel at 402 Rio Concho Dr. San Angelo, Texas 76903. 

Irma and I wish to thank our family at Freedom Fellowship Church, Robert Massie Funeral home, our immediate and extended family and friends for all the support and love they have shown us. A special thank you to Eddie & Patricia Reyes and our great friend Thabiti Yahyah.

Maurine White Bland

Maurine White Bland, 90 of Houston, Went to be with the Lord on Sunday November 8, 2015.

Wake will be held 6:30pm to 8:00pm Friday November 13, 2015 at San Angelo Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Wesley Trinity United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Bell, officiating. Burial will take place in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of San Angelo Funeral Home.


She was born on December 23, 1925 to Charlie and Luann (Maiden Name Needed) White in Carthage, TX. Maurine worked as a housekeeper for Angelo State University. On April 9, 1948 she married Alvin Bland in San Angelo. 

She was a member of Wesley Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Alvin Alexander Bland who passed June 20, 1989

Pallbearers will be Alfred Branch, Michael Hicks, John Hutton, Bobby Lacy, Ed Patterson and Albert Titus.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Brown, Lynell Ellison, Harold Smith Jr., Greg Brown, Alexander Smith, Harold Smith Sr. and Zachary Smith-Bragner.


Maurine is survived by her loving daughters, Lynell Bland of Aubrey, TX, and Patsy Brown of Houston, TX; and (OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS) grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Brothers and sisters, numerous nieces and nephews.

Special Thanks to Dr.’s and staff at DaVita Spring Dialysis in Houston.

The family of Maurine Bland wishes to acknowledge with sincere thanks the tremendous outpouring of love and support by our family and friends. The many “King” expressions extended to us and prayers offered to God on our behalf. We are grateful that you were able to join us today in giving thanks to God for this well-loved member of our family

Robert Bob Kenneth Perrine

Robert "Bob" Kenneth Perrine, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his home in San Angelo, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on Thursday, July 10, 1930 in Fenwick, West Virginia to the late, Robert Burl and Lona Lou Jackson Perrine. Bob married Christene Boatright in 1952 in Portales, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2003. At the time of her death, they had been married 51 years. Bob served in the United States Air Force during both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service. He then worked with Mitsubishi, retiring after 17 years service as a Customer Service Foreman. He was a member of Belmore Baptist Church, San Angelo. He was known for his antique cars, RV travels across the United States and as Mr. Social in his neighborhood. Bob's witty nature and outgoing spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Larry Perrine; and siblings, Frank Perrine, Kathleen Reger, and Poncella Callas. 

Survivors include his children, Keith Perrine and wife, Noma, Denise Wamer and husband, Kenneth, Kimberly Perrine and husband, David Robertson, and David Perrine and wife, Becky; 7 grandchildren, Heather, Hayley, Amanda, Shaun, Jeffry, Justin, and Shelby; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Ann Staats and Jo Miller; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. 

A time of visitation will be held where friends may greet the family from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held at Belmore Baptist Church, 1214 S. Bell Street, San Angelo, Texas 76903 on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Toby Irwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 14 from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and will continue Sunday, November 15, 2015, at the Gutierrez Funeral Chapel of Remembrance from 12:00 to 6:00 P.M. 

A Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday at 2:00 P.M. November 16, 2015, at Belvedere Memorial Park Cemetery.
