Lee Roy Motl

Lee Roy Motl, Beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Papaw went to be with His Lord & Savior on March 16, 2017 surrounded by His Loving Family. He was born June 14, 1929 to Henry & Lottie Motl in San Angelo, TX.
Growing up on their farm he learned hard work at an early age. He served in the US Air Force for 20 Years, retiring in 1972 and then went to work at Goodyear Proving Grounds and retired in 1987. 
Lee Roy was an avid fisherman, hunter, trapper and snake hunter. He loved gardening, traveling and camping out with family and friends. A member of Harris Ave Baptist Church for many years, he had a strong faith and was a good Christian man. 
Preceding him in death was two Sisters, Josephine Brown and Bonnie Johnson, one brother, Ellis Motl, a son, Johnny Kleypas, a daughter, Karla Adams and two great grandchildren, Kye and Abby. 
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Doris, two daughters, Susan Knight and Debbie Tomerlin (Toot), two sons, Les Motl and Craig Kleypas (Debbie), sisters- in-law, Mary Motl, and Garlene Hawkins (Harvey); twelve grandchildren, James Knight, Wesley Knight, Clayton Motl, Lindsey Motl, Mandi Garcia (Joe), Amber Almedia (Antone), Erika Weidner (Kevin), Brittany Stober (Steven), Kevin Kleypas (Tamra), Kaela Smith (Dustin), Derek Higgins and Heather Rain (Uriah), 22 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and a fur baby, Sam. 
The Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 20, 2017 at The First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Proctor officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons- in-law. Honorary pallbearers are James Knight, Wesley Knight and Goodyear Retirees. 
The Family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Ty Hughston, Staff of Skilled Nursing at St John’s Campus, Kindred Hospice and three Special Ladies, Darlene Williams, Michele MacDougall, and Cayla Schwartz for their excellent care during this difficult time. 
In lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice or Charity of your choice.

Mother Annabelle "Nanny" Ballard

Mother Anna Belle Ballard, often called Mama, Mother Ballard, Nannie Annie, Prayer Warrior and Miss Annie Belle, journeyed to the Lord Jesus Christ on March 3, 2017. Her life was well lived in the light of Jesus Christ. She was born on November 18, 1927 to Harry Hannibal Haywood and Lorena Belle (Dimery) Haywood in Del Rio, Texas. Around the age 2, the family relocated to San Angelo, Texas, where Anna Belle attended Blackshear School and upon graduation received a Christian Scholarship to attend Mary Allen Collage in Crockett, Texas. She accepted Christ as her Savior at 9 years of age. She joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. D. Davis, and later years united with Bible Way Ministries, where she served for more than 20 years, and had the honor of being named the "Church Mother". She married Rev. Seth Thomas and to that union Sally and John Earl Thomas were born. As life continued, she later married John Henry Ballard and to that union Michael Anthony; Vavette Michelle, and Angela Rose were born. She was preceded in death by 2 children. Anna Belle lived on her own until her final illness in December 2016. Her life was rich and impacting to many and she never met a stranger. In November 2016, she vision honoring her family and the community by hosting two highly spirited musical programs bringing many to sing and praise God with her. Although Bible Way Ministries would have been celebrating her birthday, she preferred to celebrate others because she had a blessed life. Mother Ballard loved reading (especially her Bible), praying, gardening, sewing, quilting, helping others and bringing lost souls to Christ. At the time of life's transition, she was completing a beautiful quilt. Until well in her later years, she volunteered as a Senior Companion for elderly patients. She was a faithful member at her church and was a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People - Unit 6219, in San Angelo, Texas. She received Missionary License from Bible Way Ministries, Citizen of Year Award from The LeCorterie Society, Unsung Hero from St Paul Presbyterian Church and other awards. Her joy was serving others and praying to the Lord for strength and mercy. Her family lineage is connected to the Seminole Negro Indian Scouts in Brackettville, TX and her body will be laid to rest at the Seminole Negro Indian Scouts Cemetery. Her husband, parents, and brother Joe Haywood preceded her in death. She is survived by her 5 children Sally Ayana; John Earl Thomas; Michael Anthony Ballard; Vavette Michelle Ballard and Angela Rose Haywood; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rose Mary Scott; Frances Faye Sykes; 2 brothers, Harry Haywood II and Charles Haywood SR.

Meregildo Canales

Meregildo Canales, 85, of San Angelo, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 in San Angelo. He was born to the late, Domacio and Reinolda Flores Canales on April 13, 1931 in Marlin, Texas. Meregildo entered into the state care at the age of 23. Although he was unable to speak, he communicated well with those around him. He enjoyed music, outings, eating, playing catch, and watching TV. Meregildo got great joy from playing his own version of the game, Connect Four. He was a man of routine and would quickly let others know if they disturbed his routine or his baseball cap. Meregildo will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two older brothers. 
Survivors include his caregiving family, Juan and Cissy Luna, Lauren Beatty, Aaron Beatty, and Olivia Luna; friend, Corinna; longtime friend, Joe; guardians, Elva Sanchez and Sylvia Eastman; longtime Service Coordinator, Judy Smith; MHMR Dayhab Service Provider, Angela Graves; as well as all of the staff of MHMR and D&S Residential Services. 
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Richard E. "Dick" Hall

Richard E. "Dick" Hall, 65, of Ozona, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 in San Angelo. He was born to the late, Loy and Lottie Cook Hall on December 3, 1951 in Bristow, Oklahoma. He worked in the oilfield industry for a number of years, having retired almost 8 years ago. Dick was a man of few words, so when he spoke everyone listened. His "take it easy" and laid back spirit left a lasting impact on those around him. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as fishing in his spare time. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings. 

Survivors include his three children, Isaac Hall, Heather Richardson, and Juli Hall; grandchildren, Mike, Matt, Dillon, Fisher, Gwen and Fletcher; six siblings; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. 

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Oakdale Cemetery, Depew, Oklahoma. A BBQ will be held at noon on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Pandale Crossing in Ozona. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and sign the online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo.

Hadlee Anne Holik

Hadlee Anne Holik, of Wall, TX, went to the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. 

Hadlee was born to Jason and Shyanne Holik on November 2, 2015. She favored her siblings, had the prettiest dark brown eyes, and was nicknamed “Angel Baby” by her daddy. Hadlee fought a short but brave battle against Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor, known as AT/RT brain cancer. She displayed a strong, fighting spirit even to the end. Her favorite place to be was at home playing with her siblings.

She is survived by her parents and siblings, Kylee, Jaxon, and Maggie of Wall; paternal grandparents Ruben and Rhonda Holik of Wall; maternal grandparents Brian and Rhonda Halfmann of Wall; paternal great-grandmother Margaret Dailey of San Angelo; and maternal great-grandmother Geraldine Halfmann of Wall.

She is also survived by aunts and uncles, Josh and Melissa Holik of Wall, Haley Holik of Austin, and Duane and Brianne Killam of Wall; cousins, Jude and Lyla Holik, and Addisyn, Karter, and Lexi Killam, all of Wall; as well as numerous great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Hadlee is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Stanley Sr. and Ruby Holik, W.C. and Pauline Ruffin, Alex Halfmann, and Roger Dailey, along with her great-uncle Franklin Holik Sr., and cousins Jack and Julie Burleson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Glen Meadows Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Harper Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her uncles, Josh Holik, and Duane Killam.

The family would like to offer a statement of deep gratitude to the following: Dr. Bowers at Dallas Children’s Hospital, Hospice of San Angelo, especially Holly, Amber, Amy, and to the community for their continual support.

Gabino G. Reyes

Gabino G. Reyes went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Born in Rowena, Texas on February 19, 1927. He was the only child to Santiago D. Reyes and Jobita G. Reyes. He served our country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. He will be remembered as head of his family and a prayer warrior.
He is survived by his son David Reyes and wife Esther and daughter Irene Hernandez, of CA., daughter Linda Pinedo and husband Ruben and family; daughter Yolanda Carrillo and husband Johnny and family; daughter Ruth Mar and husband Albert and family; Dianne Vega and her family; along with 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 8 great, great grandchildren, and a special granddaughter Roxann Davila and her family.
A Graveside service will be 10:00 am on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Shields, Sr. Donald "Gene"

Gene Shields passed from this life on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at home in the care of Hospice. He was born on July 26, 1930 to Jesse and Frankye Shields in Gainesville, Texas. He married Mary Louise Davis on August 20, 1950. He spent his entire career as “the best neon glass blower in Texas” and a sign maker.

Gene is survived by his daughters, Helen Ray and Ron, Janie Alonzo and Joe, son, Don Shields and Julie. Survived also by one granddaughter, Sacha Nobles and four grandsons, Cameron McSpadden, Jeremy and Bryan Shields, and Aaron Alonzo, three great granddaughters, six great grandsons and 1 great great granddaughter, his sister, June Dickerman, many step grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents, his twin brother Ronald Dean, daughter-in-law Dian Shields and one grandson Jesse Shields.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 17, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. Service will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM also at Harper Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Cameron McSpadden, Jeremy, Bryan and Michael Shields, Aaron Alonzo, and Jaedon Nobles. In lieu of flowers, please send any remembrances to Lamkin United Methodist Church, 2200 County Road 260, Gustine, TX 76455, or the charity of your choice.

Terry Jim

Jim Terry, Sterling County rancher, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. He was a beloved husband, adored father, devoted son, trusted brother and a treasured friend. Born August 30, 1955 to I.W. Terry and Carolyn Foster Terry, he was a lifelong resident of Sterling City. 

After graduating from Sterling City High School, he attended Tarleton State University and Texas A&M University. He later returned home to the family ranching business.
He and Sarena Wright Terry were married on July 10, 1999. Their daughters, Maggie and Abbie, were the lights of his life. 

Jim was an active and well-respected member of the community. He served on the boards of Tom Green National Bank, First National Bank of Sterling City, Sterling County Underground Water Conservation District, Sterling County Property Tax Appraisal Board, and West Texas Rehabilitation Center. Always a dedicated steward of the land, he was a recipient of the North Concho River Soil & Water Conservation Rancher of the Year Award, which includes Excellence in Grazing Management, Livestock and Wildlife Conservation.

He is survived by his loving wife and daughters; sisters, Susan Terry Connolly and husband Doug, of Austin, Melinda Terry Hinds and husband Jim, of Austin; brother-in-law, David Wright and wife Page, of Hamilton; beloved nieces and nephews, Kelly Faldyn and husband Jeff, Rachel Hinds, Rebecca Hinds, Sawyer Wright, Kelton Wright, Clay Townsend and wife, Lisa, Ryder Hinds. Jim was also a cherished friend to many. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carolyn & I.W. Terry; maternal grandparents, Thelma & Roy Foster; and paternal grandparents Ernia & I.W. Terry, Sr.

Paul Bearers are Tommy Bynum, Vic Choate, Charley Christensen, Tommy Corbell, Randy Hord, and Steve King, Larry Wilson. Honorary Paul Bearers are Officers and Directors of First National Bank of Sterling City, including Roger Williams, Scot Long, Jason Cox, Gary Foster, Reed Stewart, Ronnie Hirt, Johnny Copeland, Danny Stewart, Steven Foster, and Leland Foster.

Viewing is available beginning on Thursday at 5:00 pm through early Saturday morning at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo. Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2017 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Sterling City. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Sterling City, with burial to follow at Foster Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Center of San Angelo, First United Methodist Church of Sterling City or a charity of your choice.

Bilyeu Tina

Tina Bilyeu, 58, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 in San Angelo. She was born to the late, Thomas and Evelyn Stark Bilyeu on Monday, June 30, 1958 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was of Christian faith. Tina believed in working hard and enjoying what you do. She was a giver, always taking care of others. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with family and friends. Tina was an animal lover of all kinds. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Edward Stahl; son and daughter-in-law, Che and Amy Gonzales; grandchildren, Aliana Urrutia and Saith Gonzales; siblings, Susan Weeks, Dennis Fogle and Robert Bilyeu; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. 

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:30 PM on Friday, March 10, 2017 in the Johnson's Funeral Home Community Room.

Eatmon James "Jim" Dale

James (Jim) Dale Eatmon, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 surrounded by his loving family under the wonderful care of Brookdale Senior Living Solutions and Kindred Hospice. 

Jim was born on October 10, 1932 to Homer and Eva Eatmon in Palestine, Texas. He later moved to Monroe, Louisiana where he met and married the love of his life, Janice Eatmon, on June 3, 1955. After graduating from North East Louisiana State College and proudly serving in the Army Reserve from 1952-1956, he and Janice moved to Haughton, Louisiana where he became the proud father of two boys, Devin and Nick. In 1982, Jim and Jan moved to San Angelo, Texas where he worked in the oil industry and later as a real estate agent. 

Some of his favorite things were theatre, classical music and the arts. His hobbies included rock hunting, participating with Boy Scouts allowing him time to spend with his sons. He loved dark chocolate and ice cream and traveling with his family to see new and historic places. 

Jim was proceeded in death by his parents Homer and Eva Eatmon, Wife and love of his life Janice Eatmon and his siblings. 

Jim is survived by his eldest son Devin Eatmon of Cedar Park, Texas, and his younger son Nick Eatmon and wife Misty, of San Angelo, Texas, their son Devin Stewart of Junction, Texas, and one niece Debra Mock of West Monroe, Louisiana. As well as various family members across the United States.

Jim's sense of humor and the kindness he showed toward others will be missed by all that encountered him. Jim would cut comic strips from the newspaper to hand to someone he came across to brighten their day. He truly cared about others and knew how to make someone's day. He was always willing to help others in need. 

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Kindred Hospice and Brookdale Senior Living Solutions for the loving care and concern they showed. The family would like to thank Dayna with Encompass Home Health for the special care and attention she provided for Jim. Thank you to all the staff at Encompass you made a difference in his life.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Johnson's Funeral Chapel in San Angelo. Burial will be at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim Eatmon's name to Meals for the Elderly or to your favorite charity.
