Bennie Reece Johnson

Elder Bennie Reece Johnson was born in Douglasville, Texas on June 25, 1949 to the late Mrs. Opal Smith and Rev. M.C. Jiles.  
Bennie graduated in Linden, Texas then moved to Terrell, Texas. 
In 1996 Bennie moved to San Angelo where he met and married Debra Fowler in 1997. He attended Deliverance Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, and in 2002 they joined the Miracle Temple Church of God In Christ family. 
Bennie was a hard-working man and was known as “The Honey Do Man” for the variety of jobs he was able to do. 
Bennie professed God to be his Lord and Savior. He loved to preach and sing and known for his humor. He was one of the singers of the gospel group “Men of the Gospel” Bennie always dreamed of running a drug and alcohol rehab center to help those that struggled with tormenting addictions. 
In 2013 Bennie was struck with a major stoke leaving him paralyzed and residing in a nursing home facility. A lot of prayer plus many miracles happened there. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, a mother-in-law Dorothy McNally and two sisters, Bennie Lois Zanders (his twin sister) and Mary Jane Hall, his childhood best friend Jimmie Lawrence Harrison, Sr., and nephew/brother Artis “Pokey” Henderson. 
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Johnson, son, Bennie Johnson, Jr., step-daughter, Lekeshia Washington, sister Dalene (Burnest) Rhodes, close nieces Mildred Henderson and Dana Simmons; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. 
Bennie was loved and will be truly missed. 
The Funeral Service will be Monday, December 7, 2020 at Harper Funeral Home with Superintendent Jackie Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that everyone attending the service wear a mask and practice proper social distance during this time. 
The family also would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to the staff at Park Plaza Nursing Center, Kindred Hospice, St. Gabriel’s Hospice and Harper Funeral Home for all of the loving care shown to Bennie.

Kathryn Jean Moore age 83 of Seagraves, died December 1,2020 in Cedar Park, Texas.Graveside services will be om Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Grassland Cemetery, Grassland, Texas. The Rev. Genell Knisley, pastor of the Nazarene Church of Grassland, will officiate. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home of San Angelo.Kathryn was born and raised in Grassland, attended school in Tahoka and lived in Seagraves from 1957 until 2016. She was the only child of Cleety Alonzo and Irene Lucille Inklebarger Walker.She was a homemaker mostly. She had a flower and gift shop in Seagraves for a couple of years back in the 60’s. Kathryn was very creative and made beautiful floral arrangements and her gift wrapping was a work of art. You hated to open your presents because they were wrapped so beautifully.After getting her youngest daughters in school she worked as a teacher’s aide at Seagraves Elementary until she got a job at Sandia Sprayer, where she worked for twenty-eight years as bookkeeper and receptionist.Most recently she lived in San Angelo for two and half years before moving to Austin and Cedar Park for the past two and half years.Kathryn loved sewing, crocheting, bingo and watching Texas Tech, Texas and Baylor football and the Spurs basketball on tv. When her girls were younger, she would sew most of their clothes and especially as they got older she would make twirling outfits for Cristy and cheerleading outfits for Melissa and Billy Kaye, as well as clothes for her mother and herself. She started crocheting and we all have beautiful afghans, scarves, hats, and decorations. She also took ceramic classes, and we have several beautiful pieces. Kathryn was so good at anything with arts and crafts.Her family was the most important thing in her life. She raised three daughters, Cristy Potthoff of Austin, Melissa Moore (Trey) of Austin, and Billie Kaye Fuentes (John) of San Angelo; five grandchildren, Lyndee Martinez (Alfonzo), Tiffany Hancher (Blake), Michelle Savoie, Ashlee Cavazos, Devan Cavazos(Becca); three step-grandchildren, Brandon Anglin, Pamela Potthoff (Joseph) and Trish Deen (Hollis); and seven great-grandchildren, Mystee Linareo (Jose), Layton Anglin, Cristian Martinez, Norah Hancher, Alida Hancher, Andrew Deen and Cash Christensen; and many beloved cousins and friends.Many thanks to the Center Pointe Memory Care Facility in Cedar Park for taking such good care of her for the past one and half years.In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the Seagraves Senior Citizens Center, PO BOX 584, Seagraves, TX 79359-0584 or the Alzheimer’s or American Heart Association.Please sign the online guest register at www.robertmassie.com.
