Jackie Sissel

Jackie Wilson Sissel died December 30, 2020. She was born in a farmhouse in Tom Green, County on January 21, 1925 to G.M. (Woodrow) and Myrtle Wilson, the youngest of six children. Jackie spent her early years in Miles, Texas. Her family moved to San Angelo and she later graduated from Lake View High School. After graduation, Jackie was employed by Western Union and worked in Monahans, Abilene and San Angelo. 
She was married to Shirley A. Sissel October 28, 1945, who was a co-founder of Three Rivers Electric Co. They shared 25 wonderful years together until his death in 1971. Jackie and Shirley loved the outdoors and spent many hours and days hunting and fishing. 
After Shirley’s death, Jackie was employed at General Telephone Co. and retired in 1987. Upon retirement, she filled her days by volunteering for the Salvation Army, Meals for the Elderly, AARP, and Concho Valley Telephone Pioneers. 
Jackie was a long-time member of First Christian Church and Henson Sunday School Class. She loved the church and served in many leadership roles, including elder. 
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her nephews Randy Richards, Rick (Sharon) Wilson and nieces Barbara Polanco, Linda (Robert) Peterson and Donna (Carl) Pfiel. Jackie is also survived by her long-time best friend Posey Long and her children Eddie Long, Kevin (Renee) Long and Cheryl (Don) Pettit. 
Special thanks to Kindred Hospice and to special friends and caregivers Glenda Bailey and Elaine Rash. 
A celebration of her life will be held at First Christian Church on January 9, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. T.J. Shoop-York presiding. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Christian Church, Meals for the Elderly, or charity of choice.

Ramon Mota, 81, passed from this life on Sunday, January 3, 2021. 
Ramon was born March 20, 1939, in Ballinger and had been a lifelong resident. Ramon was employed by Gabbert Packing company for many years. In 1978, he and his nephew, Benjamin Martinez, purchased the business which became M & M Packing Company. After the business sold in 1997, Ramon was employed at Textronics Inc. in Ballinger and was the office manager until his retirement. 
Ramon served 4 years in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. 
Ramon was an avid lover of antiques, old pictures, and books. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques and had a collection which he sold at a local antique store. 
He is survived by his sons, Arnold R. Mota (Sandi) of Pflugerville, TX, and Jacob Mota (Emily) of Northport, AL, Sammy Garcia (Betty) of Plano, TX, and daughter, Laura Relitz, (Jay) of San Antonio, 
two brothers, Arnold Mota of Santa Rosa, CA, Oscar Mota of San Angelo, and 3 sisters, Ildifonza Alvarez and Martha Mota of San Angelo, and Otilia Fraga (Jesse) of Pflugerville, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Celia Salazar Mota, sister, Connie Martinez, and brothers, Jose Mota, and Paul Mota. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
