Mildred Fay Harrison

01/08/2021 - 08:46 , by TKing09

Mildred Harrison, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away January 6, 2021 at 87 years old. Millie joined the love of her life, Wesley Harrison, in their heavenly home. She was born on January 4, 1934 in Paris, Texas to Otis and Sadie Bunch.
Mildred, also known as Millie, graduated from Amarillo High School. She started a banking job right after graduation. Upon the early loss of her father, the family moved to San Angelo to be closer to relatives. Millie began working at First Savings and Loan Association as a teller and worked her way up to head teller. As fate would have it, Wesley went into the bank and was immediately smitten with her. After he got her name and introduced himself, they began dating and then married in 1963. The couple was inseparable. They both had a passion for golf. Millie just started later but became an accomplished golfer in a short time. Wesley tells when they were pairing up teams, they would say Harrison and he would step forward, but they meant Millie. They were long time members of Bentwood Country Club.
Millie always had a smile for everyone she met. She was the most kind, caring, and well-mannered lady to the end.
Millie is survived by her family Roy & Ramona Lane, their son Keith Lane and family, and their daughter Jessica Hogan and family. She was preceded in death just a short 2 months ago by her loving husband Wesley Harrison, her parents Otis and Sadie Bunch, and her twin brother Claude Bunch.
The family would like to thank their neighbors Melvin & Tonya Terry and Ron & Joanie Leaver, Hospice of San Angelo, Dianne Bass and precious sitters Pearl, Hilda, Delia, Angela, Andrea, and Juanita.
Open viewing will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 8:00 AM-7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 1:00 PM.

Sherline Elizabeth Strube

01/08/2021 - 08:39 , by TKing09

Sherline Elizabeth Strube, 85, of Wall, Texas passed away on January 6, 2021. Sherline Michalewicz was born to Andrew and Louise Michalewicz on October 22, 1935 and was raised in the Olfen area. She enjoyed many good times with her family and friends growing up. She married her sweetheart, Daniel Strube, in 1956 at St. Ambrose Church in Wall, Tx. She was a loving and dedicated wife, helping Daniel with farm duties as needed. They were blessed with six children. Together, Sherline and Daniel taught their children the importance of strong faith, working hard and having a generous heart. Mom provided a warm and loving home for her children.
After the children grew up, she began babysitting for community members. She offered many hours of love and playtime and provided a Grandmas love to all. Throughout the years she cared for over 100 children in her 'breeze way.'
She was the ultimate proud Grandma and was often seen at their events or bragging on their accomplishments. Those grandkids were her pride and joy and she looked forward to each of their visits. Her family continued to grow and she was blessed with 40 great grandchildren and are expecting two more soon. Grandma Strube prayed and lit many candles for these grandkids and we always felt she had a special way of reaching God in prayer- like no other. Sherline was deeply devoted in prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
She was always ready to have fun and looked forward to the next place to go. Family gatherings were loud and fun and a special event at "Grandma Strube's house." Sherline enjoyed entertaining friends and family at her home, offering them food and drinks, and always wanted to make sure "a good time was had by all."
She enjoyed playing bunko with her dear friends, visiting with her best friends- "her sisters", and was a member of the Busy Bee Quilters, the Golden Girls, St. Ambrose Church, CDA and Altar Society.
Sherline is survived by her children: Sherry Holubec and husband, Dennis; Denise Latzel and husband Stanley; Roger Strube and Debbie Norris; Paula Frerich and husband John; Pattye Furr and husband, James; and Kelly Matschek and husband, Bruce; nineteen grandchildren: Derek Latzel, Kayla Hartl, Nicole Womack, Jessica Norton, Bailey Naugle, Koreley Whittington, Justin Strube, Chelsea Wood, Blake Frerich, Kortni Vanicek, Shelby Kalina, Shayna Neighbors, Danielle Dunn, Kristen Dennis, Ethan Furr, Mason Matschek, McKenzi Murray, Brylee Niehues, and Reid Matschek in addition to forty great grandchildren. She is also survived by her "other half"- her twin sister, Merline Weishuhn; and sisters Wilma Halfmann and Delores Hoelscher and her sisters-in-law, Beatrice Michalewicz and Sandra Michalewicz.
Sherline is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her siblings: Margie Jacob, Evelyn Jacob, Bernie Michalewicz, Donnie Michalewicz and Warren Michalewicz and many special friends and family members.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons, Darryl, Doyle, Karl, Clayton Weishuhn and Lisa and David Edwards and Logan McCoy.
A rosary will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 6:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. A special thank you to Interim Hospice Care.
Memorials may be made to the Priests of the Sacred Heart, Sacred Heart Monastery, P.O. Box 900, Hales Corners, WI 55130-0900 or www.poshu.org

Jo Ann Stek

01/08/2021 - 08:31 , by TKing09

On January 5, 2021, it is with heavy hearts we had to say goodbye to Jo Ann Stek who went to be with her son and husband in heaven. She passed with her daughter and cat, Panell, by her side.
She was born on May 5, 1920 to Thomas Esparza and Eva De Anda, in Wichita, Kansas. She was raised by her aunt and moved to California where she met her husband Victor O. Jensen. They had two children, Victoria and Allen. She was a certified machinist and the only woman to work with all men. She worked for General Electric Co. and owned her own cleaning and restaurant businesses. Jo Ann learned how to fly and she and Victor loved to dance and they were very good. After her divorce from Victor, she moved from California to San Angelo in 1999. She started working as a caregiver because she said there were always people that are sick and people who need help. She finally retired in 2014 at age 94.
Even though she was baptized Catholic, she attended the Cowboy Church with her daughter Vicky for many years. Because of her age, she was kept in her home for the last year, but she did make it to her 100th birthday in May. She is preceded in death by her son, Allen.
Jo Ann is survived by her daughter, Vicky Smith of San Angelo; grandchildren, Missie Jones and partner Jason of Missouri, and Alexis Jensen and partner Cody of Nevada, and Doug Jensen and wife Allison of Nevada; great-grandchildren, Ross, Lane, Lily, and Emily Jones; and great-great grandson, Jayce Jones, niece, Ethel Binyon and nephew, Wes Madsen of San Angelo, and many special nieces and nephews from California.
The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Gabriel’s Hospice for all their kindness and help, they were truly angels. Nicole, Ashley, and Miranda who were there for her since January, her night caregiver, Darlene and Maria who helped immensely we could not have made it without you.
She always said that “she never let grass grow under her feet…” and she never did.
“I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake from which I’ll never part. God has you in his arms, I have you in my heart.”
