Raffle and GoFundMe Launched to Support Vargas Family After Tragic Loss

SAN ANGELO, TX — Jeys Saddlery has announced a fundraiser to support the Vargas family, following the sudden passing of Aaron Vargas, who died in a car crash Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Vargas was described as generous and kind-hearted, leaving behind his wife, Jessie, who is the daughter of a Jeys Saddlery employee.

The local business is hosting a raffle featuring a $500 gift certificate for leather goods redeemable at Jeys Saddlery, 1112 N. Chadbourne St. Each raffle spot costs $20, with all proceeds going directly to Jessie Vargas to assist with burial and other expenses.

A GoFundMe campaign has also been created to help cover the family’s costs. As of Wednesday morning, the campaign had raised over $1,300 toward its $6,000 goal. Donations are also being accepted through Venmo.

“Yesterday, we lost an incredible soul that was our family. Aaron was an amazing young man and would give you the shirt off his back,” Jeys Saddlery wrote in a Facebook post.
