Contemporary Watercolorist to Lecture at ASU

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Angelo State University's Department of Visual and Performing Arts will host contemporary watercolorist Clara Nulty for a visiting artist lecture on Monday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building at 2602 Dena Drive.

Nulty's presentation on her career and experiences as a professional artist will take place in the Carr EFA Building's Eldon Black Recital Hall (Room 149) and is free and open to the public.

A native of New York, Nulty currently teaches painting, drawing and foundational courses at Colorado State University. She has also displayed her artworks at museums and other institutions across the U.S., including the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Smith House, Cranbrook Art Museum, Denver Art Museum, Attleboro Arts Museum, RedLine Contemporary Art Center, Gregory Allicar Museum of Art and Ortega y Gassett. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in painting from the Cranbrook University Academy of Art.

Following the open lecture, Nulty will lead a workshop for ASU students in the Watercolor class on painting with alternative surfaces, and she will also conduct individual studio visits with advanced art students.
