ANDREWS- A former college football superstar is coming to Andrews next month.
Former Florida Gator, Heisman winner, Tim Tebow will be coming to Andrews on October 19, 2022, to speak for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Tebow has always been outspoken about his Christian and religious views even in the NFL. He played for the Florida Gators from 2006-2009 and won two BCS National Championships, the Heisman Trophy , and was eventually drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
Andrews has been hit with several tragic events. Last year, the Andrews High School Band was involved in a serious bus crash on the way to Sweetwater for a high school playoff game. The crash claimed the lives of three individuals including the Andrews Band Director Darin Kimbrogh Johns. 11 band students were injured and two were airlifted to Lubbock with incapacitating injuries.
“This town has been hit with multiple tragedies over the past few years and after every tragedy, you see how the town and surround towns have come together in unity,” Gavin Ortiz with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes said, “It’s that unity that we look forward to seeing.”
The event will be free to the public and is taking place on October 19, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.
