SAN ANGELO – Things happen outside the Concho Valley all the time and that's something San Angelo LIVE! is reminded of throughout the year. But in Texas, you have the Big Country, Hill Country, the Metroplex, the Gulf Coast, and the Rio Grande Valley are only part of the Lone Star State.

Here are some of the stories from across Texas in 2021:

The Mason County Courthouse was set ablaze this year, Texans found out what ERCOT was, and a chief of police triple life was discovered. Here are the most read Texas stories of 2021:

1. In Mason County Thursday night, the historic courthouse burned to the ground. News of the fully engulfed fire reached us at around 10:15 p.m.  The suspect, Nick Miller, even live streamed his arrest which you can watch HERE.

2. The Texas Court of Appeals, 5th District in Dallas, denied the appeal of a murder conviction of a former Dallas Police officer.

3. A million dollar scratch off ticket was sold at a San Angelo gas station last week.

4. Dress Air Force Base in Abilene received a new commander for the Maintenance Squadron after an internal investigation took place recently.

6. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is asking Texans to reduce electric use as much as possible today through Friday, June 18.

 

7. A Laughlin Air Force Base squadron commander received national notoriety overnight after Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson read an internal email from the commander ordering his personnel to keep quiet about 737 aircraft on the Laughlin AFB tarmac being loaded with illegal aliens to be transported into the interior of the country.

 

8. Power outages have affected all of West Texas and one Texas city is saying enough.

9. The Chief of Police in Stinnett has been placed on administrative leave as the department investigates "possible violations of city employment policy."
