Chief of Police: Family Man or Cheating Husband?

STINNETT, TX – The Chief of Police in Stinnett has been placed on administrative leave as the department investigates "possible violations of city employment policy." But according to social media, there is more to the story.

Social media sleuths have allegedly discovered Chief Jason Collier is leading a double – or rather a triple life.

By day Chief Collier is the commanding officer of a police force protecting a small town in the Texas panhandle. According to Collier's Facebook page, he is married to a woman named Opal and the couple has a total of 4 kids. He describes himself as an ordained minister and as a Godly husband.

But according to social media, the chief has a few skeletons in his closet. A post on the Stinnett's Police Department went viral after two women discovered they were both dating Collier – and they didn't know it.

According to the Facebook thread, which has now been deleted, Collier was dating a woman named Cecily Steinmetz from Amarillo.

Allegedly, Collier told Steinmetz his marriage to his wife Opal had been annulled. He presented her with what she claims is a forged annulment document and proposed last November. She stated in a Facebook post she had confirmed the document with Potter County.

Steinmetz apparently learned about the third woman in Collier's life, Kristi Shaffer of Kansas, on Facebook.

A friend of Steinmetz noticed Shaffer had commented on the post. The comment grabbed her attention because the woman's profile picture featured Chief Collier.

Steinmetz discovered that her fiance was also engaged to Shaffer.

The women then began exchanging screenshots that showed the progression of their relationship with whom they believed to be a single man.

By exchanging information the women were able to determine the excuses they were each given when Collier couldn't see them.

For example, the chief told Shaffer he was in Portland for work but was actually spending time with Steinmetz.

As more details emerged the two women discovered he had in fact proposed to both women and had asked both of their fathers for their hand in marriage.

The Facebook thread is filled with screenshots and conversations as the women figure out the lie they have been a part of for months.

When the City of Stinnett issued their statement regarding Collier's suspension they did not directly address the controversy.

"The City of Stinnett is aware of the current situation surrounding the Chief of Police Jason Collier. The city is taking this seriously and will be looking into any violations of city policy. Chief Jason Collier has been placed on administrative leave while the city investigates possible violations of city employment policy. As per city policy, we will refrain from commenting on any personal issues of personnel in a public forum."
