SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 6-0 Monday to approve new middle school feeder patterns that will take effect July 1, 2027, ahead of the 2027-2028 school year.
The changes are intended to balance enrollment across the district, improve operational efficiency and support long-term needs as student enrollment and demographics continue to shift, the district stated.
Beginning with the 2027-2028 school year, each of the district’s three middle schools will draw students from four elementary campuses. The approved assignments are:
- Glenn Middle School: Belaire Elementary School, Fort Concho Elementary School, Glenmore Elementary School and Lamar Elementary School.
- Lincoln Middle School: Bradford Elementary School, Fannin Elementary School, Goliad Elementary School and Holiman Elementary School.
- Lone Star Middle School: Bonham Elementary School, Crockett Elementary School, McGill Elementary School and Santa Rita Elementary School.
The new patterns better align student populations with available campus capacity and support the district’s long-term financial sustainability, according to the district. Like many school districts across Texas and the nation, San Angelo ISD continues to face declining enrollment and shifting demographics, the district stated.
No students will be affected during the 2026-2027 school year. Families will have more than a year to prepare for the transition. The district said it will continue communicating with families throughout the 2026-2027 school year and provide additional implementation details and transition resources.
The San Angelo ISD Attendance Zone webpage will be updated to reflect the approved middle school feeder patterns.
