SAN ANGELO, TX – Fishing ranges from fair to good in lakes and reservoirs in and around the Concho Valley according to the weekly fishing report from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Fishing reports are updated each week, usually by Thursday morning. The reports are compiled by an outside contractor who receives the information from bait shops, marinas and fishing guides.

Here's the area fishing report:
Alan Henry
GOOD. Water clear 84 degrees; 1.86’ low. Black bass are good, staying close to the rocks on spinners and crankbait. Crappie continue to be good in timber and vegetative banks with cover. Catfish are fair on live bait, cut bait, and stinkbait.
Arrowhead
FAIR. Water stained; 85 degrees; 1.01’ low. Largemouth bass are fair in submerged pockets with Carolina rigged plastic worms. Crappie are fair on jigs looking in cool, calm and shaded water. Catfish are good on cheese bait, stinkbait, and minnows.
Cisco
FAIR. Water clear; 87 degrees; 5.21’ low. Largemouth bass are fair but getting good with a small cooldown working in fisherman's favor. Work grass, brush rocks and brush using worms, crankbait, jigs, and spinners. Sunfish are good on cutworms under docks, piers, and shallows. Crappie are fair with jigs in cool water and among large structures. Catfish have been fair on stinkbait, chicken livers, and cut shad.
Coleman
FAIR. Slightly stained. 82 degrees. 2.06’ low. Hybrid stripers are continuing their success on rattle traps finding the schools and continuing to follow mid-depth along with coves and downrigging when you can’t find them. Largemouth bass are fair as topwater returns to success and working crankbaits, worms, and jigs in less than 12 feet of water. Crappie are fair on jigs sticking close to structures. Catfish are fair with stinkbait and cut bait.
Ft. Phantom Hill
FAIR. Water stained; 83 degrees; 2.32’ low. White bass are good, seeking deep edges of coves and before the spillway on Alabama rigs. Black bass are good with points, humps, and rocks with crankbait, occasionally topwater and plastic worms. Crappie remain good on live minnows less than 40 yards off banks. Catfish are fair on cut shad and stinkbait throughout the lake.
Hubbard Creek
FAIR. Water stained; 84 degrees; 2.78’ low. Largemouth bass are good continuously searching for patterns and giving them a variety to bite with topwater, jigs, worms, and deep crankbait. The most consistent pattern now has been working timber, and creek beds drops. Crappie are good on jigs in vegetation and timber. White bass are good starting to move shallower but still below 15 feet. Sunfish are always fair on worms. Catfish are fair on live and cut shad.
Meredith
FAIR. Water stained; 87 degrees; 49.28’ low. Black bass are tough but can be caught with long casts near drops with spinners, jigs, and keeping your worms shallow. Walleye are fair with small crankbait moving mid-lake. Crappie are fair on minnows moving above and in rocks. Channel catfish are fair fishing stink bait in most places.
Millers Creek
GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees; 0.85’ low. Largemouth bass are good early with topwater and working submerged and surface vegetation in the afternoons past around 4p. Crappie are fair working the edges of timber on jigs. White bass are fair still below 20 feet on Alabama rigs and small spoons. Catfish are fair mid-depth in coves with live, blood, and liver prepared baits.
Nasworthy
GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees. 0.96’ low. Black bass are fair on long points, ledges, and random humps identified by boat instruments. Worms and jigs are good thru thick vegetation. Crankbait are best deeper above structures. Crappie are good with minnows. White bass are fair just below drops. Catfish are fair on live and prepped baits throughout the lake.
O.C. Fisher
FAIR. Water stained; 86 Degrees. 40.65’ low. Largemouth bass are fair working flooded vegetation, rip rap, and ledges staying west with worms, spinners, and crankbait. Crappie are good in creeks, humps, and drops. White bass are fair over structure on small spinners. Catfish are fair on stinkbait, live, and cut bait.
O.H. Ivie
GOOD. Water clear; 85 degrees; 12.03’ low. Black bass are good in standing timber but don’t forget about humps off points and ledges. Try crankbaits, jigs, live bait, and plastic worms. Crappie are good on jigs and appear to be mostly nocturnal. Catfish are good on stinkbait, live, and cut bait. White bass are fair further off points and on the edges of structure.
Oak Creek
FAIR. Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 3.66’ low. Largemouth bass are good on the traditional worms, crankbait, and jigs. So many structures to choose from, but stay below 10 feet. Crappie are good on minnows on drops and ledges. White bass are fair and deep mid-lake on the structures present with small spinners. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers, live bait, and cut bait.
Possum Kingdom
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 84 degrees; 2.02’ low. Black bass are fair getting on the ledge edge drops with soft plastic worms, spinners, crankbaits, and Alabama rigs. White bass are good even deeper in rock coves and steep points. Crappie are fair still under structures and in the vegetation of low traffic water. Striped bass are slow. Catfish are fair on cut shad with increased activity at night.
Spence
FAIR. Water stained; 87 degrees; 39.79’ low. Black bass are good fishing early on topwater and among rock and drops, use Alabama rigs, worms, crankbait, and spinners. White bass remain slow with limited success as deep as possible. Crappie are fair on minnows over jigs and moving just a bit further away from structure. Hybrid bass are slow. Catfish are fair on live and cut bait coming out from flats to deeper water.
Stamford
GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees; 0.48’ low. Black bass are good, with more consistent spots with topwater next to bulrush or off grassy points. Bumping jigs and deeper baits have been good around 12 feet depth. Crappie are good on jigs in timber and a lot of structures across the lake. White bass are good with live shad below 18 feet. Catfish are fair on live bait and stinkbait.
Twin Buttes
FAIR. Water Stained. 86 Degrees. 11.73’ low. Black bass are good on worms, spinners, crankbait, and jigs staying along the rip rap. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs west in shallower pools. White bass are fair deep with Alabama rigs along the dam. Catfish are fair on live and prepped baits.
White River
FAIR. Water stained; 87 degrees; 23.54’ low. Drought conditions continue to be in place. Largemouth bass are good and have caught large bass recently on dam points with Carolina rigged worms. Crappie are fair increasing activity among marinas, grass, and submerged vegetation. Walleye are fair still deeper than normal, and can be fished just shy of mid-lake. Channel catfish are good on live bait, cut bait, and stinkbait.
