SAN ANGELO, TX — West Central Texas faces low to moderate chances for rain and thunderstorms this week, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, with the highest probabilities expected from Monday through Wednesday.
For San Angelo, forecasts indicate a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms beginning Monday afternoon and continuing into the night. On Tuesday chances hover around 40 percent during the day and into the evening.

Despite these rain opportunities, forecasters say confidence remains low for significant rainfall amounts. Probabilities for receiving at least half an inch of rain range for San Angelo is about 20 percent on Tuesday, with lower chances the remainder of the week.

Some thunderstorms could be strong to severe, especially in the afternoon and evening hours, though the overall risk for severe weather is low.
Temperatures will remain hot, with highs near 95 degrees on Monday and around 90 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. South winds will stay generally light at 5 to 10 mph. Today will see a high of 98 degrees.
