CLYDE, TX — Firefighters with the Clyde Volunteer Fire Department are currently conducting an investigation to determine what caused nearly seven acres to burn in Clyde on Monday afternoon.
Clyde VFD Chief Richy Barr stated his firefighters, along with the assistance of Eula and Baird VFDs, were able to save multiple homes on the north side of the fire.
Reports indicate the fire started around 5:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in the 8200 block of Private Road 5072.
At this time it is unclear as to what started the fire that burned nearly 7 acres of land after damaging or destroying seven homes, and an additional twelve vehicles in the area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
