A San Angelo woman was indicted in February by a Tom Green County grand jury for bringing a controlled substance into the Tom Green County Detention Facility.
Surveillance of the area resulted in the interception of a rented box-truck with a total of 70 illegal aliens trapped in the cargo area. Four unaccompanied children were encountered in this event and were transferred to the Central Processing Center.
The group of illegal aliens consisted of 104 single adults, 61 family members, and 37 unaccompanied children. The aliens were from the Caribbean and various Central and South American countries as well as Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, and Uzbekistan.
