SAN ANGELO, TX — The iconic plastic cactus that adorns the top of the Angry Cactus West Texas Bar and Grill, 1 W. Concho Ave., became more infamous this week when a squadron at Goodfellow Air Force Base incorporated it into their version of a “kraken.”
The City of San Angelo will be opening a warming shelter from 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, to noon Sunday, Dec. 25, at Carl Ray Johnson Recreation Center, 1103 Farr St.
SAN ANGELO, TX — Cotton is the leading cash crop in Texas and the state ranks first in U.S. cotton production. Cotton generates $1.6 billion for farmers, with a state-wide economic impact of $5.2 billion. Most of the cotton in Texas is grown on the South Plains, from cotton fields east of San Angelo and northward through north Texas throughout the Panhandle.
