The Grand Jury met on February 4th and indicted 51 people. While most of the indictments were drug related, three included crimes against children.
Overall, 20 people were indicted on drug-related charges, and 10 for burglary and theft. However, the eye catcher on this list are the three individuals being charged with crimes against children. This problem seems as consistent as drugs and burglary.
One such individual, Jose Jesus Gonzales, 41, has six assault on a child charges, all of which have happened within the past year. Here is the list of his offenses:
- Feb. 22, 2015: Sexual Assault Child < 17 yrs of age
- May 17, 2015: Sexual Assault Child
- Nov. 15, 2015: Aggravated Sexual Assault Child < 14 yrs of age
- Nov. 25, 2015: Aggravated Sexual Assault Child
- Nov. 25, 2015: Aggravated Sexual Assault Child < 14 yrs of age
- Nov. 26, 2015: Aggravated Sexual Assault Child
These are Gonzales’ first offenses, but it appears that he went all out.
Next, Nicholas Daniel Glass, 33, is being charged with possession with intent to promote child pornography, while Gerrald Wayne Mauldon, Jr., 38, has charges of injury child/elderly/disable with intent bodily injury.
Mauldon has a prior record as well, which includes three assault charges on family members (2003-2011) and an indecency with a child sexual contact (2012) that was dismissed.

What is the purpose or benefit to posting the GJ indictments online or in the newspaper. We are a country where you are suppose to be innocent until PROVEN guilty. When these names are published all its does is give one side of the story, the prosecutors, and the majority of people will form an uninformed opinion and spread rumors and gossips on and about people without knowing the whole story. Many indictment assignment of a crime does not turn out to be the correct crime assignment when both sides are heard. I'm not blaming the GJ, they use what is given to them. I think it's of no benefit to publish the list of indictments. The only thing this information does is upsit families that are already hurting. Why kick people when they are already down and condemn people before their day in court. This online community and the Standard Times only want to sell papers and gain readers at others expense. We do not like social bullying on Facebook, tweeter and all other venues, is this not the same? When this list is published, you do not know all the details so don't publish it.
