Man Shot in Snyder; 3 Suspects Arrested

 

SNYDER, TX — A 21-year-old man was shot early Thursday in the 500 block of 33rd Street, and three suspects are in custody, according to the Snyder Police Department. 

Matthew Sanchez sustained gunshot wounds about 3:20 a.m. Thursday. Officers in the 500 block of 34th Street were approached by a person who reported the shooting nearby. Officers located Sanchez, and Scurry County EMS and Snyder police officers began life-saving measures. He was transported from the scene and remains hospitalized. 

Police identified the suspects as Winston Deramus Reed, 26; Seth Thomas Lane, 32; and Coralina Rodriguez-Silva, 30. All three are in custody on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury. 

The Brownfield Police Department and Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office assisted in apprehending one of the suspects. Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation, which remains ongoing. No further information was released. 

There is no danger to the community related to the incident, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Snyder Police Department at 325-573-0261.
