SAN ANGELO, TX – The 82-year-old woman accused of poisoning dogs off of College Hills was given 5 years probation on Wednesday.
According to court documents, on Jan. 12, Sarah Howell, 82, pleaded guilty to cruelty to non-livestock animals by poisoning and killing.
Howell was originally arrested for the charge after she was indicted by a Tom Green County Grand Jury in Oct. 2020. Prior to that Howell went viral on social media after multiple dogs were killed near the dog park on College Hills. For more see: Concho Valley PAWS Warns of Animal Poisoning Near College Hills
She was accused of putting hot dog wieners in a pan filled with antifreeze. This method killed at least one dog for sure. The outrage on social media forced the police department's hand to speak up on the matter. They begged for people to quit harassing Howell as they chose to not press charges.
In the plea deal, Howell agreed to 5 years probation.

PermalinkProbation? For malicious intent? That's sad. I hope her next meal comes coated.
