SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo woman was given a plea deal Monday by the district attorney's office after she pleaded guilty to trying to strike her ex-boyfriend with her car.
According to court documents, on November 19, 2019, officers with the San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of E 22nd for the report of a crash between a 2012 Dodge Charger and a utility pole.
When the officers arrived, they met with the resident of the home where the crash occurred. The man told officers that at around 3:15 p.m. he was outside of his home arguing with his ex-girlfriend Jordan Chapoy.
Chapoy and the man were arguing about his new girlfriend. During the fight, Chapoy used her keys to scratch the victim's car.
The victim claims he then lured Chapoy far enough away where he could run and get into his car. He then drove away but was followed by Chapoy.
The victim claimed he made several turns around the neighborhood in an attempt to lose her, instead she rammed into his vehicle at the corner of Bradford and 22nd. After striking the victims vehicle, Chapoy's vehicle hit a utility pole, a mailbox, and then a fence.
Chapoy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was later indicted on the charge in January of 2020.
Then on August 31, Chapoy pleaded guilty to the charge in return she was placed on a four-year deferred adjudication.

PermalinkWho can say? Maybe she was just raised in a home without a strong father figure willing to say, "No." Don't know the person, but sometimes it's just that simple!
