3 Arrested in Connection With Theft From Grape Creek Fire Department

GRAPE CREEK, TX — Three people have been arrested in connection with the theft of outdoor HVAC components from the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, authorities and fire officials confirmed Wednesday.

Eric Lynn Miller, Vernon Vay Brown Fox, and Chastidy Dawn Walker were each booked into the Tom Green County Jail on July 2 on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity, according to jail records.

The arrests follow a June 28 incident in which individuals were reportedly caught removing HVAC equipment from the fire department’s property at 8325 U.S. Highway 87 North. Photos shared by the department initially sought the public’s help to identify two men seen in a vehicle at the scene.

On Wednesday, the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department announced on social media that suspects had been taken into custody and thanked the community and the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office for assistance.

Details on the alleged organized criminal activity or potential charges related specifically to the fire department theft have not been released.

No bond information was immediately available.
