ROBERT LEE, TX -- What started with the request for police reform following the tragic death of George Floyd has transitioned to the removal of Confederate statues and the renaming of buildings across America.

Throughout Texas, a number of monuments have been removed this year while closer to home Midland ISD agreed to change the name of the 60-year-old school Robert E. Lee High School. 

While San Angelo ISD is currently evaluating the name of Robert E. Lee Middle School, the town of Robert Lee named after the Confederate General is facing a similar dilemma. 

Although Robert Lee native Nicklas Saervice has yet to make a formal request to the Robert Lee City Council to rename the town, his suggestion on social media has been met with tremendous backlash from members of the Robert Lee community and people from across West Texas.
