Nissan Versus 18-Wheeler on College Hills and Millbrook

A female driver went to Community Medical Center this afternoon after she struck an 18-wheeler on College Hills Blvd. and Millbrook in a black Nissan.

San Angelo Police Officer John Bouligny said the driver of the black Nissan was traveling northbound on College Hills going towards H-E-B at approximately 3 p.m. That's when she drifted across the center line and struck the trailer of the 18-wheeler.

“She was transported to Community Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries,” said Officer Bouligny. “Everybody in the 18-wheeler is okay.”

Bouligny said officials had to unload the trailer because it was no longer driveable, and Home Motors was scheduled to show up and clean the roadway. The area of College Hills and Millbrook will be closed until they can get the trailer unloaded and the area cleared.

Officer Bouligny said he doesn’t think speed is a factor in this crash, but the 40 miles per hour limit in that area can cause a bit of an impact.

Bouligny added that the crash is still under investigation.

Bet you a dollar to a doughnut a cellphone was in use...how else would you "drift" across a left turn lane into a trailer?
OBTW, speed limit there is 40 mph.

I'd make a bet Mr. Henderson, but I'm also convinced that this was lady was "TEXTING" while driving. It's a shame Law Enforcement can't catch these "ABUSERS" of modern day technology! Oh, well, if she was "TEXTING," maybe this accident will make her think twice before "TEXTING WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRIVING"
