Deborah Gail Burleson

03/02/2021 - 09:29 , by TKing09

Deborah Gail Burleson, 60, of San Angelo joined her family with the Lord on February 26, 2021. She ended her battle with pancreatic cancer at peace, surrounded by her family of loved ones.
Debbie was born April 30, 1960, to Ray and Janice Littlefield in Crane, Texas. She is preceded in death by her father Ray Littlefield, and late husband Steve Ross. She leaves behind her first family: her mother Janice Littlefield, her brother Jackie Littlefield, wife Ruth and their children Paige Kendall, Brooke Kendra, and Collin Thomas. Her sister Becky Morrison, husband Joe and their children Jana Rae, Justin Ray, Jeremy Ray, her great-niece Alyssa Jade, and great-nephew Triston Luke.
Debbie’s family legacy begins with her daughter Stephanie and in August of 1986, Debbie married the love of her life, Johnny Burleson. Together, with Stephanie, they would welcome their son Joshua Lynn. This strong legacy will continue to grow through her granddaughter, Jordyn RaeAnn, and grandson Skyler Brock. She lived for her children and grandchildren and saw her family as her greatest accomplishment. She, with Johnny, are the glue that binds this family together. She was their strength, their shelter, their biggest cheerleader, and most of all, she was their hero. She was always there for them when they needed her for guidance, to offer an encouraging word, or just when they needed to feel loved. Her most defining trait was the unyielding love she had for them. Her family always knew that no matter what life brought, Debbie’s love would remain. As she joins mother-in-law Kay Crouch, Debbie’s legacy will continue to be honored by the family she leaves behind.
The love she shared with her families included an extended family fostered through her personal and career endeavors. One was not just an acquaintance to Debbie, one was not just a friend, everyone was family. The compassion, empathy, and generosity for others was the foundation for a 20-year public service career with Child Protective Services. It is what created lifelong relationships with childhood friends, coworkers, and a loving church family. A family which includes precedents Mike Stone, and Susan Crawford. As well as ones still with us: Twilah Edwards Ward, Charlotte Paup Lee, Tammi Heard Shanafelt, Leslie Carson, Bryce Morris, and her ever-evolving Life Group at Glen Meadows Baptist Church.
Please be part of a family celebrating Debbie’s legacy. Services include:
