Stanley Eugene "Stan" Brosig

Stanley Eugene (Stan) Brosig, 87, of San Angelo passed away March 24, 2021. He was born September 12, 1934, in Runnels County, Texas to J. H. “Buster” and Iola Brosig. He was married 52 years to Anita Hoelscher Brosig, who preceded him in death August 15, 2006. He also, preceded in death his Son, Steven Wayne Brosig.  

He is survived by his children and their spouses - Karl Brosig (Cindy) of Midland, Terry Brosig (Kim) of Ft. Worth, David Brosig of Austin, Linda LeBar (John) of Granbury and Lois Brosig of Spicewood; grandchildren - Jace Brosig (Lindsi), Joe Brosig (Kristin), Robert Brosig (Jennifer), Michael Brosig (Chandler), Eric Brosig, and Leah Brosig; great-grandchildren: Gus, Riley, Lincoln and Kai Brosig; Sister Donna Dills and husband Don of Willow Park.  

He is also survived by his wife, Fay Theriot Brosig of San Angelo; stepchildren: Wade Theriot (Star) of Waller and Tully Theriot of San Angelo; step grandchildren - Samantha Warick (Sawyer), Alex Kleman (Bryant), and Sarah Theriot all of San Angelo; step great-grandchildren - Kyla and Kenna Kleman and Rhyder Warick; several nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws in the Tom Green, Concho, and Runnels County area. Also, his devoted curly lap buddy & companion, “Little Missy”, (a Shih Tzu) who changed his life with her personality & unconditional love. 

Stan attended Lowake school and graduated from Paint Rock High School in 1951. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Angelo Jr. College studying Animal Husbandry. He married Anita Hoelscher in 1954. They lived on a small family farm in Concho County and later moved and resided in the Permian Basin area where he worked for TEXACO for 38 years before retiring in 1994, as a Production Supervisor. He often worked two jobs.  
He proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1953 to 1958. 

Stan was a devoted member of St Stephens Catholic Church in Midland for 20 yrs. He volunteered for Helping Hands, delivered meals for Midland’s Meals on Wheels, and served as a volunteer for the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum. After moving to San Angelo in March 2015, he continued delivering meals for San Angelo’s Meals for the Elderly and volunteered for the City’s RSVP Organization.  

He loved watching his Grandsons play ball. If he couldn’t attend, he always relished hearing the details. He especially loved to hear all about family member’s hunting trips & fishing excursions. He enjoyed cooking for and spending time with his family & friends especially the times leisurely cruising Lake Granbury with his daughter & son-in-law. He had an outstanding memory, relating to family reunions, classmates, throughout his life rattling off names of western artist as well as lyrics to their songs. He loved listening and dancing to country & western music, playing card games, dominoes, watching Wheel of Fortune, enjoyed reading and loved to travel. He was a great conversationalist and will be greatly missed. 

His last Journey, being the most important one - Entering into the Kingdom of his Lord and Savior. AMEN 

The Vigil Service (Rosary) will be 6:00 P.M., Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Harper Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 29, 2021 at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Charles Greenwell as celebrant. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park 6.9 miles South of Big Spring or 80 miles North Hwy 87 from San Angelo. 

Family request donations be made to Meals for the Elderly, in San Angelo, St. Gabriel’s Hospice or your favorite charity.

JoAnn Herring, 88, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends and family from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

JoAnn was born May 3, 1932, to Sid and Lorene Jones Chapman in Ballinger. She graduated from Ballinger High School in May of 1949. JoAnn married Zid Herring, Jr. on June 15, 1949 in Ballinger, and they shared 50 wonderful years together. He preceded her in deathon December 7, 1999. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of San Angelo.

JoAnn and Zid spent most of their married life ranching. They spent many years in Ft Stockton Texas where all their children completed their schooling. In the early 80's they moved to Maryneal, Texas to their section of the Herring family ranch. When they decided to retire, they moved to San Angelo. JoAnn loved to country western dance and spent many years involved in a line dancing group. She also had a passion for playing the card game Hand and Foot, and we all spent many hours playing.

She is survived by her three children, Vicki Gray, Randy Herring and wife Donna and Becky Herring all of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Randy Gray and wife Susan of Amarillo, Kyle Gray of Kermit and Heather Word of San Angelo, Lisa Herring of Ozona and Jessica Herring Bolding of San Angelo; Seven great grandchildren, Dustin Gray and wife Tyler and Ryder Gray all of Amarillo, Taylor DeHoyos, Mayce Bolding, Cooper Bolding, Haley Robledo all of San Angelo, and Baylee DeHoyos of Austin; two great-great grandchildren, Skylar Gray and Kelton Gray both of Amarillo; JoAnn is also survived by her brother, Glen Chapman and wife Kathryn of Bandera, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joy and Dalton Owens of Maryneal; and sister-in-law, Jean Herring of Maryneal; as well as many nieces and nephews. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister and brother-in-law, June, and Curtis Wiesepape; sisters-in-law, Billie Herring and Hettie Taylor; and brothers-in-law, E.S. "Snooky" Herring and Jack Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her special friend Ed Nalepka.

The family would like to thank JoAnn's caretakers, Dianne Bass, Andrea Orrosquieta, Juanita Medrano and the staff at Hospice of San Angelo for their tender care of our mom.

Honorary Pallbearers are her grandsons, great grandsons and a great-great grandson, Randy Gray, Kyle Gray, Dustin Gray, Ryder Gray and Kelton Gray and Cooper Bolding.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of San Angelo, 36 E Twohig Ave # 1100, San Angelo, TX 76903 or your favorite charity.
