LeeRoy Latimer Marsden

LeeRoy Latimer Marsden, 73, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 after a lengthy illness. LeeRoy was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was a great friend to many and a stranger to none. LeeRoy was born March 12, 1948 in Brady, Texas to T.H. and Donna Marsden.  
On November 5, 1966, he married the love of his life, Sharon Barker Marsden. After his marriage, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he was stationed in Pensacola, Florida. Following his service in the Navy, he worked as a butcher for Safeway in both Abilene and San Angelo. He was later presented with the opportunity to drive a freight truck for Merchant Freightliner in San Angelo, El Paso, and Arlington. While in Arlington, LeeRoy entered Dental Lab School, where he went to school during the day, and delivered freight by night. In 1983, LeeRoy opened and operated his dental lab in San Angelo, where he worked until his retirement in 2015. 
LeeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and brother –in- law Joe Dillard. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, a brother, Thomas Marsden and wife Christine of San Angelo, and a sister, Becky Dillard of San Angelo, three daughters, Missy LaBarge and husband Shane of San Angelo, Amy Sims and husband Shaughn of Ballinger, and Heather Polston and husband Rob of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He is also survived by his grandsons, Kramer and Keegan LaBarge of San Angelo, Griffin and Drake Sims of Ballinger, and Jared Polston of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, many numerous nieces and nephews. 
LeeRoy was a member of First Christian Church of San Angelo. In his free time, he enjoyed teaching and calling square dancing all over West Texas, hunting and fishing. He especially cherished his time with family and friends at the family farm in Millersview, Texas.
The family will receive friends and family from 2 – 4 PM Friday, May 7, 2021 at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services with be on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10 am at Harper Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. TJ Shoop-York officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.  
Pallbearers are Buddy Barker, Chuck Shore, Jim Shore, David Timm, and Zane Cummings. 
The family would like to than Dr. Tye Hughston and the nursing staff at Shannon Medical Center.  
The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.

Mary Francis (Mankin) Andrews

Mary Francis (Mankin) Andrews, 94, of San Angelo went to be with her heavenly father on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. 
Born in Jones County, Texas on June 1, 1926 to William Thomas and Myrtle (Rushing) Mankin, Mary graduated from Anson High School in 1944 and graduated Drauhons Business School in Abilene, Texas. On December 17, 1948 Mary married the love of her life, James William Andrews at Truby Baptist Church. Mary worked as a bookkeeper at Wilson Wholesale, H.O. Wooten Wholesale Grocery and at San Angelo ISD for 13 years. Mary was a devoted housewife and mother to her two children and a helpmate to James in his service as a full-time minister. After James retired, he and Mary led the Fellowship Sunday School Class at Glen Meadows Baptist Church for many years. Mary devoted her life to James and the Lord as He called them to pastor several churches in West Texas; Hobbs, New Mexico; Mobile, Alabama; and New Deal, Texas. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved stepfather, Eugene Olney “Daddy,” her husband of 69 years, James; siblings Joe Tom Mankin, Robert William Mankin, Betty Ruth Mankin Brown, Dorothy Mankin Scales, James Edward Mankin and Karie Olney Best. 
Mary is survived by her son Steve and wife Diane of San Angelo, her daughter Sheri and husband Brent of Uvalde; six grandchildren, Trevor and wife Abby of Des Moines, Iowa; Tambra Andrews of San Antonio; Aubry Baldwin and husband Brad of Dunkerton, Iowa; Amanda Montelongo and husband Erik of San Antonio; Garrison Rutledge Long and husband John of Satanta, Kansas and McCrae Rutledge of College Station. Great-grandchildren Madison Andrews, Emma Cooper, Amelia Andrews, Gryffin and Margot Montelongo, and great-great-grandson Atticus Holder. 
She is also survived by sister Marilyn Olney Grant of Abilene; brothers Larry Olney and wife Ramona of Hawley, Jerry Lynn Olney and wife Carla of Hamlin; sister-in-law Elizabeth Andrews Griffin of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
Special thanks given to caregiver Nancy Rychlik and the staff at Shannon Medical Center.  
Memorials may be made to Glen Meadows Baptist Church for Foreign Missions or Meals for the Elderly of San Angelo. 
An open visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 6th at Harper Funeral Home. The graveside service will be Friday, May 7th at 10:00 AM at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Claremont L. “Jim” Welch, of San Angelo passed away Monday, May 3, 2021. He was born July 10, 1931 in Eastland, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Connie Welch and two daughters, Cheryl Cremin and her husband Trey and Christy Leslie and her husband Jon. He is also survived by four wonderful grandsons, Mark, Nicholas, Jackson and Luke. His favorite hymns were “At the Cross” and “I Will Sing of My Redeemer.” At his request there will be no services.
