Beronica G. Gamez

08/24/2021 - 14:41 , by TKing09

"You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure".

Beronica "Betty" Guadarrama Gamez, 79, went home to be with Jesus Sunday, August 22, 2021, in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, August 27, 2021, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

She was born in 1940 to Elias and Tiodora Guadarrama. For many years grandma owned Betty's Trading Post and other small "shops" in flea markets around Angelo. She loved finding treasures at garage sales and sharing the word of God. She would often minister to whoever she encountered and made sure to have bibles on hand to give out. She wanted you to know and love Him as she did. She was very much a woman of God.
She is preceded in death by her sons, Mario and David; her sisters Estella, Carolina, Yolanda, Dora Elia, and Guiermina; her brothers, Manuel and Héctor; and both parents.

She is survived by her children, Osiel Gamez and wife Barbara, Verrnis Addison, Linda Gamez, Sonia Davis and husband Nakarin, and Gracie Partida; her 15 beloved grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; her brother, Elias Guadarrama; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Rodriguez; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Grandma, your unconditional love, words of wisdom, and all your teachings will never be forgotten. Thank you for raising us to be who we are, to be the family we are.

Edward A. Lopez

08/24/2021 - 09:22 , by TKing09

Reverend Edward A. Lopez, 63 years old from San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Edward was a man of profound faith, with a spirit of forgiveness, compassion in abundance and a faithful servant of the community. He was a man who wholeheartedly loved the Lord. His favorite pastimes were cheering for the Central High Bobcats, Texas Longhorns, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers.

Reverend Lopez served in the ministry for 34 years. His final sermon was given on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at River City Baptist Church where he was serving as pastor. For several years, he was also the CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of San Angelo. In addition, he served as Chaplain for San Angelo Police Department for 10 years and a chaplain for San Gabriel’s Hospice. Reverend Lopez won copious awards and accolades from the community he loved serving.

Reverend Lopez was the happiest in his life when he met his wife, Maria M. Martinez, she brought him true joy and a wonderful daughter, Alexi Martinez.

He leaves behind his loving wife, his daughter, and his mother, Belia A. Benitez. He is survived by his four siblings, Sylvia Bauchman (Gary) from New York, Nelda Garcia (David), Robert Lopez (Tiffanie) and Brenda Izaguirre (Honorable Edgar Izaguirre) all from Austin, Texas. He also leaves behind two nieces (Dr. Alyson D. Garcia, M.D. (Dax Brannan) and Anyssa Lopez-Moya), four nephews (Kristopher Lopez (Jordan), Caleb Garcia, Alex Moya-Lopez, and Christian Panter), two great-nieces (Nelda Faye Lopez and Zara Brynn Brannan) and one great-nephew (Titus Dax Brannan).

He is preceded in death by his father, Domingo C. Lopez and his stepdad, Arturo G. Benitez.
His life was dedicated in service to others, never met a stranger and had an infectious laugh which will be missed.

Reverend Lopez believed in the Lord and in medicine. He was fully vaccinated but COVID-19 ravaged his lungs and kidneys due to others not exhibiting the same wisdom. The family wants to thank Shannon Hospital COVID-19 ICU staff for the excellent care given with a special appreciation to Dr. Wood and Emily (Emy) Emmons, RN.

Due to COVID-19, the funeral services will be for immediate family members only. Please get fully vaccinated, wear a mask, social distance and wash your hands.

Thomas "Lon" Londale Briley

08/24/2021 - 09:15 , by TKing09

Thomas "Lon" Londale Briley, age 75, was welcomed by his Savior into Heaven on August 22, 2021 in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Interment will be on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery in Abilene located at 7457 West Lake Road, Abilene, Texas. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27th at 3:00 PM at the Southgate Church of Christ in San Angelo. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Lon was born December 14, 1945 in Winters, Texas to Linzie Clyde and Veda Maxine Wheat Briley. He grew up in Midland, TX where he graduated from Lee High School. Lon attended West Texas State University where he earned his Master's Degree in Music. Lon married the love of his life, Barbara Joyce Farr, in Eden on September 2, 1966. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant into the US Army and taught band for a year before he entered into active service, serving honorably in Vietnam.

Lon was a multifaceted individual and had many talents. He was an educator, he worked for over 32 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and he served not only as a deacon in the church but also as a minister. He was an exceptionally gifted musician. He could play any instrument and sing any melody. Music brought him great joy. Even after Alzheimers had stolen much of his memory, he could still sing along with a familiar song. He also enjoyed fishing, pitching horseshoes, and loved their small farm in Eden, TX during his retirement. Lon was most proud of his legacy of faith that he passed on, which will be carried on for generations.

Some might describe Lon as a prankster, namely his sons and his co-workers. He certainly could dish it out out, however he wasn't always quite as eager to take it. He cherished his family and friends, especially the grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Lon was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Eric Odell Briley, and a grandson Brandon Clay Jackson.

He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Barbara; his children, Robert Briley and his wife Michelle of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, Donald Briley of Pampa, Texas, Joe and his wife Sherian Briley of San Angelo, Texas, and Brenda Briley and her husband Adam Lamprecht of McKinney, Texas; his brothers, Bryan Briley and his wife Tina, and Ronald Briley; his grandchildren, Megan Ryan and husband, Jacob, Kayla Briley, Erin Briley, Kolson Ashley, Trace Briley, Taryn Briley, Summer Keathly and her husband Kevin; and by his great grandchildren, Nora, Jemma and Thea.

If so moved, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Lon's memory.
