Vines Lillian

Lillian Vines went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at her residence, at the age of 96.
Lillian was born January 5, 1918 in San Angelo, Texas to Charles Meek and Belva Stewart Meek. She graduated from San Angelo High School in 1936 and was a lifetime resident of San Angelo. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ.
On April 16, 1938, she married Gordon Lee Guttery. They were married for seven years until his death on March 9, 1945 at the first crossing of the Rhine River in World War II. Two sons were born to this union; Neal Gordon Guttery and David Lee Guttery.
After Gordon's passing, Lillian married Elgin Vines on February 7, 1948. They celebrated the birth of a daughter, Lisa, in 1957. They were married for 55 years before his death on December 24, 2001.
Lillian was a homemaker and was devoted to loving and caring for her family. She was an avid reader and loved to cook and provide special meals for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to Gordon Guttery and Elgin Vines, Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Neal Guttery; her daughter-in-law, Wanda Guttery; her brothers, Darwin Meek, Charles Meek, and Ray Meek; and many dear friends.
Lillian is survived by her son, David Guttery; her daughter Lisa Bibb and her husband Jackson all of San Angelo; special grandchildren, Joe Guttery of San Angelo and Melissa Jones and husband Hunter, of Midland and precious great-granddaughter, Landrie Grace Jones. 
Her family would like to thank the caring staff of Visiting Angels and Odyssey Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals for the Elderly.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home.

Barina Alpha Mae

Alpha Mae (Petty) Barina, age 91, formerly of San Angelo, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Cleburne, Texas. 
Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Barina was born April 5, 1922 in Gustine, Texas to William Alfred Petty and Ruth Green Petty. She married Harry John Barina on December 14, 1940 in San Angelo. They moved from San Angelo to Richland Springs, Texas where they lived for 30 years. She and Harry retired and moved back to San Angelo where they lived for 16 years. In 2000 they moved to Cleburne.
Mrs. Barina was preceded in death by her husband in November 2005. Also preceding her in death were three sisters.
Survivors include a son, Harry John Barina, Jr. of Temple, Texas; two daughters: Edith Anderson and husband Jack of Cleburne, Texas and Elaine Barina and husband Johnny Adams of Smithville, Texas; five grandchildren: Sam and Bobby Barina, Damon and Aron Anderson, and Johnna Adams; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Maida Kelly of Kerrville, Texas, Ada White of Snyder, Texas, and Glenda Mathews of San Angelo.
